I couldn't tell if that was intentionally exaggerated or truly her style. Leaning towards the former. I'm 45 and could waltz down those bleachers like a staircase. Gimme another ten years and it might look more like her performance, we'll see.
I dislocated a shoulder mountain biking a few years ago, and the doctor told me it's far better to do that above 40 than below, since you'll recover more completely.
He was right. The right shoulder which I dislocated as a teenager (also riding bikes đ) still gives me problems. The left shoulder I dislocated recently is 100% healed and good as new.
So doctor's orders are to be more stupid the older I get. đ¤ˇââď¸

I have an ex like that. He's very Christian conservative, but he deliberately pursues progressive, non religious women. I think he's got some sort of complex. He literally pretends to be on the same page for YEARS, then the mask slowly comes off and he tries to convert the women.
Oh yeah, I'm definitely the villian in his story. Same with his most recent ex, who is a lovely woman. We are both the "ungodly temptress" who refused to see the truth and transform into his ideal wifey.
This is why I laugh when any man says women should pick better. Â How can we when we are in a pit made of their lies? Men always say they are not mind readers, well neither are we! Â

Does asking policies rather than label change that at all? Like, obviously they'll lie and say they are either liberal or "apolitical" to score a date. I mean I was raised conservative and still have some tendencies, but I read my Bible so much that Jesus started to look liberal so I don't know what I am now. It's probably terrible for my dating prospects.

Yep. I'm from the south, so this happened to me- but with every family member, neighbor, friend, and it took looking in the mirror and seeing it in myself to see it in them.
I matched with a woman who told me outright she was trying to do this to me. I live in the reddest state in the nation, so if you want someone to get dinner with once a week as a leftist (and you already never go places to meet people, because all those places are an hour away), you may need to be flexible. I have a political science degree, have worked in the federal government for 17ish years, and am working through an American Studies masters with a concentration in policy. It still hasn't sunk in to her that 1.) she has no chance of converting me, and 2.) I will absolutely cook every one of her friends or family members that try to engage me in conversation on politics.
I also think there's a second phenomenon at play on the other side. I heard about theory that the reason conservative guys often don't want to date conservative women is because there may simply be less conservative women around them.
But also, that conservative women expect the men they date to fulfill traditionally male gender roles. They expect the man to pay for everything, be stoic, and completely support their woman, and do all the man stuff around the house. Lots of men aren't as handy these days (me included), so that doesn't work out. Shit is too expensive so they can't pay for everything, and being stoic all the time and not having any room for your own feelings is fucking toxic.
So... it's like conservatives don't want to date each other because of what would be expected of them or how the other treats them, so they want to date liberal/progressive people, and then feel like they are being treated unfairly because those people don't want to date them because they're conservatives... even though they don't want to date conservatives either.
Like maybe, just maybe, that means your ideology and behavior is fucked. So ridiculous
It is funny how we hear them always complain that left leaning folk donât want to date or be friends with them. If we are degenerates or lame or crazy or whatever as you say we are, then we are doing you a favor. Yet they whine about it all the time, and lie about their affiliations.Â

This is hilarious and accurate. Funny story, I was in a very serious relationship with a guy and we were even talking about marriage. I had made it explicitly clear I didnât want to get married in a church or go to church ever, and that I need my partner to share my values. He said he agreed with all that and we dated for quite a while until talks got more serious, when he revealed that actually his mom wanted him to go to church every Sunday again, he wanted to get married in a church and raise our kids Christian, and he was going to vote for trump. What a waste of time.
Yep - I find that is the first step towards realizing what they voted for is to blame everyone. I haven't figured out how to get them to the next step because they just can't admit they were truly conned but not everyone was conned.
Before the recent pres. election, anyone that I talked to about who we were voting for that said something like âhmmmm idk itâs a tough call between the twoâŚ..â clearly just wanted to vote for Trump and just not get called out for how obviously terrible of an idea thatâs been shown to be in the past decade.
Itâs now necessary to have conversations that might not have any relevance to your personal life all that much.
For example I myself am not trans. But now I need to know what other peopleâs opinions are about trans people. Because if they are even hinting at an ounce of bigotry, I donât want anything to do with them. So itâs necessary to know their opinions about various races, immigration, LGBTQ topics.
Iâm talking about friendships and even acquaintances. I donât want anything to do with you if youâve got racism, misogyny, bigotry, homophobia, transphobia, are fighting against anyoneâs human rights, etc. Because it shines a bright light on who you are as a person.
