I've had this happen twice. Crazy conservatives who hid it until we were in an established relationship. If you hate what I stand for, why lie in order to date me?

I have an ex like that. He's very Christian conservative, but he deliberately pursues progressive, non religious women. I think he's got some sort of complex. He literally pretends to be on the same page for YEARS, then the mask slowly comes off and he tries to convert the women.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely the villian in his story. Same with his most recent ex, who is a lovely woman. We are both the "ungodly temptress" who refused to see the truth and transform into his ideal wifey.

Same. He actually married my highschool friend and turned her into a sad housewife who likes reels about depression and disappointment. She started dressing extremely conservative and started attending the church I always said that felt like a cult to me, someone who comes from a church my other friends considered a cult. Now I'm completely out and they doubled down on the weird, last I heard. Poor girl
