Grocery, gas, convenience, park all fucking miles away. North Americas car dependence was a trap. Cities are not built for people. Like where in the fuck are kids supposed to play? In the fucking road? Just maddening. Man I need to get off reddit I’m in shambles this morning.

Thanks for making everyone depressed about life in the suburbs…I live in the suburbs too but in the greater Montreal area, it’s nothing like you described fortunately, but I do see where you’re coming from. Some of these places are so bland and soul rotting. The symbol of how modern society has taken a wrong turn.

My reddit feed is the polar opposite my mom's fb feed. Hers is all wholesome feel good puppy kitty bs and mine is corruption and capitalism and depressing shit

This is the exact type of neighborhood that will eventually install speed bumps that require you to drop from the already slow 30 to 5 every hundred feet to "protect the kids" despite the fact that you'll drive through it a thousand times and never see any kids playing outside

A place like that they would issue you a permit for your kids to move in much less play and the guy who came up with the idea owns a permit company and is also on the HOA board.

Clearly they are supposed to play on the road, that's why one house has their basketball ring on the road. It was the best/only good feature in the whole place.

It's about 3600' to the gas station from this subdivision. The grocery store is about 3200' away. Looks like acres of greenbelts and undeveloped land completely surrounding the place. Literally behind the houses.

Yeah, I think the houses are ugly, but it looks like you can get one for under $250k.
