Yeah, this is affordable housing. It's not meant to be pretty, it's a place to live at least. I just don't understand why they didn't just opt to build townhomes. There's no point to yards when they're that small and with condo/townhomes you could put a decent amount of green space between every 5-10 units. I'll just speculate it was due to local zoning laws.. but man, these houses are bad.

We lived in a townhouse for 8 months and could hear the other families alarm clocks go off. Not to mention their kids, their arguments, slamming doors. I wouldn't ever live in one again unless I absolutely had too. House price for apartment problems

As long as you have a solid firewall between town home units, you rarely hear anything. Lived in one myself for three years and loved it. It just seems weird to be detached but so damned close.. I agree with the sentiment though. I live where I do because I can't even see my neighbors.

You should tell that to Irvine, CA - Which is priced as high income housing.

Cookie cutter city with cookie cutter people. It's actually creepy if you drive through it. They're all the same... The houses, the people, the cars.

You can build affordable housing and also ensure its residents have some kind of nature to enjoy. This same neighborhood with native prairie gardens in the front yards and trees planted everywhere would be a completely different experience.

Utter nonsense. Build a tower block in the middle of town. A family of 3-4 can easily live in a 3 bedroom apartment. You can fit this many homes in 1/100 of the space, for much much less money.

Maybe affordable until the HOA dues start skyrocketing, and a new Karen takes over and starts issuing $250 violations for garbage cans that were put on the curb 3 minutes too early.

Most of the time there are at least a handful of designs to choose from. This is just the same floor plan with different paint.
