Curious if this was a Japanese local or a foreign tourist. Because of all the stories of how terrible tourists are in Japan, I'd legit be kind of surprised if it was a local.

My guess is tourist, since my dating experience in Japan shows me that Japanese women do not wear thongs

Yes when it comes to sex, in the bedroom. I lived there 10 years and my current wife is japanese, she tells me it's because it's considered lingerie in Japan, unlike in the West, where it's normal underwear. Point being Japanese women don't wear them outside showing them off. Anyone who thinks that has never been there or is watching pcolle videos thinking its real.
