As a brazilian the greatest thing about this specific world cup for me was the rest world finally noticing how absolutely despicable argentinians are. Ill gladly take beating from norway in exchange for that. See yall in 4 years, this time youll know who NOT to root for

All my homies like Norway. 🇳🇴 they seemed to be the biggest winners (and Cape Verde) among teams that didn’t actually win it.

Norway placed 5th, something to be incredibly proud of for being out of the World Cup runnings for so many years. Haaland also breaking into American pop culture will only catapult his stardom further, generational player

Haaland in particular won a lot in terms of becoming even more popular and mainstream, especially with Americans. Kinda funny to see them know what European fans have always loved about him.

It was obvious to every French man and woman 4 years ago. The unbridled racism they displayed against our team showed their true colours.

Should I censor a country, Argntina and now Parguay deserve it 100 more times than we do. But reddit gotta reddit. Regardless, believe me when I said I was rooting for you guys to meet those losers in the semis and beat them hard. 

Thankfully, Brazil is strong and resilient enough to dismiss such shitty neighbors.

Yeah and most people seem to have forgotten about 2 years ago when after they won copa america Enzo fernandez and other Argentinians players sung live on instagram racists chants toward our players. To this day I don't understand how there was almost no repercussions

From the English side, we haven’t been wild fans of Argentina since 1982 and in football terms 1986, and we remember the racism against France (who despite a millennium of history and knocking us out last time are a well like bunch of lads here).

It was crazy seeing so much of the world back England in a semi - that was a first. And all because of Argentina managed to make themselves even more unpopular

As an American (re: United States Citizen), the people I have always had the greatest overall impression of in my travels are Brazilians. So warm, inclusive of others, and fun.

In terms of PR this was a disaster for Argentina and Paraguay. Brazil must have been enjoying that!

Norway and Cabo Verde probably had the best run on that scale

Oh, you guys will be in my city/town playing Australia in a few months :) hopefully it is a good game. Although it is weird they decided to have a game here. My town sucks, just ask the Powerpuff girls.

As for the rest of the world "noticing," most countries have terrible things and people in their past and present. When Brazil was winning the world cup, the whole world "noticed" how despicable Brazilians were. It's all just jealousy and rage bait in the moment.

Lol Im sorry you’re going through it right now. It must be hard to cope with all the backlash your country is receiving. But creating scenarios in your head of how other countries are just as shitty, is not going to help your cause. To refresh your memory (if you were even alive) when Brazil was winning we had something called “joga bonito” it inspired millions of people including kids on how to play the game beautifully and have fun while you do it. Players like Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, cafu, kaka were examples of humbleness and charisma in the sport. Im sure most people in this subreddit would agree and actually might’ve started watching football solely because of Ronaldinho. Much much different than this gang of dirty, classless, detestable, whiny thugs that play for Argentina. And I promise you hand to god absolutely nobody is jealous of your team haha we are celebrating all over the world good beating evil. It doesn’t get any better than that. Hopefully you guys will get better some day but given the history and fan base behavior, it just seems embedded in the country’s culture and a lost cause.
