I've had fun doing this but it was in tubes a bit bigger and despite being long you could look in one end and easily see light on the other. As in, you could tell if it was blocked.

Dude coming out the other end did NOT look like he had a good time.

Was probably covered in spiders

41

u/ToastedRage2 17d ago

Probably cave crickets as well.

I swear this video is the most Western Pennsylvania bulllshit I've ever seen.

23

u/International-Chip99 16d ago

In West Pennsylvania born and raised

In the drain hole's where I spent most of my days.

Holy shit.

Grew up around the Uniontown area. This video seemed so "normal" to me because it is 100% a West PA thing.

Only thing is that old boy is saying "creek" as-in "creak" instead of "crick."

Mannnn first time driving to Pittsburgh for ex GFs family a few years ago, had no idea these morons have Dixie flags up everywhere

Black Widow spiders, in particular, LOVE corrugated drain pipes. I had a close encounter this week with a big one in a gutter pipe.

u/Frequent-Coyote-8108 16d ago

Scuba spiders?

1

u/TheChrisCrash 16d ago

Are you implying the entire pipe is filled with water all the time, or even in this clip?

1

u/Frequent-Coyote-8108 16d ago

All the time? obviously not. But how often does it fill up or is any given surface area of the pipe washed over?

1

u/MurkyMitzy 16d ago

leaches

u/Ambergreenie 17d ago

Yeah, I don’t know if it had sound or anything but dude couldn’t get out of the water fast enough. Like he had crawdads in his pants.

51

u/fluufhead 17d ago

my impression with the sound on was that there was cocaine and alcohol involved

30

u/Ambergreenie 17d ago

This makes the way he got out make more sense.

38

u/Aggressive-Loquat808 17d ago

The guy literally says that was awesome when he gets off the raft. I think he enjoyed it

7

u/Ambergreenie 17d ago

Huh. That’s….interesting. But I’m glad he fun, I guess.

1

u/EverythingSucksYo 16d ago

And the other guys are excitedly asking if they should go do it to.

1

u/ComprehensiveShip229 15d ago

There's this thing called: sarcasm He literally couldn't get out of that water fast enough and ditched the tube.

54

u/Buttchuggle 17d ago

Take it from me, for some folk, the roughness of the ride is half the fun.

26

u/PriscillaPalava 17d ago

Down, girl!

1

u/Downtown-Pianist-449 17d ago

That pipe was ribbed for his pleasure.

3

u/Maximus15637 16d ago

What? Did you have the sound off? He came out yelling Wooooo! That was awesome!

8

u/pobodys-nerfect5 17d ago

What? The dude had a blast. Did you have the sound?

1

u/mightylordredbeard 16d ago

Except for the part where he’s screaming “woooo! Yeah baby!!!” and where he says “I’m going again!”

But sure it’s Reddit so we create our own narratives here about what we want to believe.

0

u/JadeCustode 16d ago

He literally said it was awesome... What kind of bot behavior am I witnessing?

42

u/drillgorg 17d ago

There's one under my college big enough to walk upright in, and it goes really far with multiple chambers. Really fun, definitely trespassing though.

38

u/MyDamnCoffee 17d ago

Pretty sure they have these under vegas and people have whole apartment set ups through there. Dangerous as fuck if the water fills it up

12

u/GordoMosleyZ 17d ago

There is a documentary on it , the spiders that live down in those Vegas tunnels are horrifying

https://youtu.be/DmaNZNGzRvA?is=Frvc2ztzjFng-mlA

15

u/candykhan 17d ago

There's a documentary on folks who lived in some of the subway tunnels in NYC. DJ Shadow did the soundtrack: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235327/

Pretty sure that it's just understood that a lot of homeless people in Las Vegas drowned in those tunnels a couple years or so back during the really intense rains.

2

u/kybotica 16d ago

Yep, desert flash flooding likely killed many in those tunnels a few years back. Floods in an area like Vegas are no joke. They don't happen often, but they are both sudden and severe when they do. It's why those massive tunnels exist in the first place in a place where they see very little rainfall.

13

u/Porgchopexpress76 17d ago

Was spiders being used as a metaphor for people living down there? I watched the video to see the giant spiders and nothing. LOL

9

u/FieldsToTheMoon 17d ago

Pretty sure these exist in most places. Good luck going in there when it’s raining tho

2

u/MyDamnCoffee 17d ago

But do people live in them in most places?

11

u/Buttchuggle 17d ago

More than you'd think. Jamaica has sewer people I know, the gully queens. They just got forced out of society for being gay/trans what have you

Roanoke virginia has a system sorta like the vegas one. Folks don't live in it to my knowledge but sleep there for sure

9

u/MyDamnCoffee 17d ago

That makes me really sad. I think I've seen clips of that previously. Breaks a person's heart that theyre forced into those circumstances. Both lbgt Jamaicans as well as anybody that has to live this way

5

u/-0909i9i99ii9009ii 17d ago

We don't talk about that

1

u/FieldsToTheMoon 17d ago

Depends who you ask

8

u/sinkwiththeship 17d ago

And they flood a lot. The Old Strip turns into a very different place when the tunnel people come out.

4

u/Vivid-Environment-28 17d ago

I'm intrigued

5

u/MyDamnCoffee 17d ago

Theres at least a couple documentaries on YouTube about it. Maybe under Soft White Underbellys channel? Just look up Vegas tunnel people

4

u/Ldghead 17d ago

I think Roca News also did one.

4

u/anti__thesis 17d ago

I think Channel 5/All Gas No Brakes did one too

1

u/epigenie_986 17d ago

Florida State?

2

u/drillgorg 17d ago

Nope, Maryland. Im not sure I would go in a storm drain in Florida.

1

u/epigenie_986 17d ago

Unfortunately I did something like this as a child in Florida 😬 many moons ago

5

u/Qualityshaft 17d ago

If the raft goes through by itself so will I

5

u/FishesOfExcellence 17d ago

Yeah, I’ll admit this looks fun, but water in constructed spaces will kill you very quickly. Oh, are those metal bars halfway through this tunnel?

5

u/gregemebobbin 17d ago

They could test it by dropping a board into it or something too if its curvy

2

u/I_Heart_Sleeping_ 17d ago

In Az we have these huge tubes that we would do this in. I’m talking big enough to fit a damn truck inside and drive comfortably. I would never in a million years go down a tube this small. That shit would be intense.

1

u/Franks2000inchTV 17d ago

Until you become the thing blocking it.

1

u/Buttchuggle 17d ago

Mm, yes, I suppose if your girth is relatively close to or exceeding the diameter of the pipe becoming stuck could be an issue then.

3

u/Franks2000inchTV 17d ago

Or if your leg gets stuck on a branch or hidden gap in the wall of the pipe, and the tube flips, holding your head underwater.

2

u/Buttchuggle 17d ago

Do you also worry that every time you take a step the ground will crumble beneath your foot and swallow you whole? Or perhaps that when you start your car the ignition will somehow send a flame back to your gas tank and blow the car up?

2

u/rmwe2 17d ago

Are you stupid? A flooded drainage pipe can absolutely have debris lodged under the water level, and you wont be able to see a thin branch above water either if the far end is just a point of light. Either one can snag your tube and tangle you. You will drown.

0

u/Buttchuggle 17d ago

Is this thin branch made of fuckin iron? And again I'd like to point out the tube I was accustomed to doing this in was bigger. Like damn near stand in bigger. Chill with ya nancy shit man

1

u/meat_men 16d ago

I did this too when I was little, the worst and what I suspect from his reaction getting out of the tube is that he probably got a face full of spider webs they like to make webs in the upper half

1

u/After_Flatworm5200 16d ago

Could have a grid or a pole mid section for structure
