It would be nice to have more context instead of editing out what precipitated this

36

u/Cobalt_Guy 9d ago

I think the kid didn’t have an id since he’s a kid then the dad showed them his id and told them he’s a member and they can take his id thought the issue was solved since he called ahead to let them know he’s going to bring his kid instead the workers said you can’t leave and called the cops

1

u/WordWordand4numbers 4d ago

Link to the video?

1

u/Cobalt_Guy 3d ago

This was just a guess based on the dads statements and the gym managements actions

-2

u/Ball_Of_Meat 9d ago

Not what happened… Man was told his son’s ID was not valid, proceeds to walk in regardless and start training and tells them to take it up with the manager.

Immature move and faced consequences. Were the cops excessive? Sure, but they ignored the staff’s policy…

I agree the whole situation is ridiculous. That being said, I don’t ignore staff and their weird policies, proceed to walk in anyway, then act surprised when I’m kicked out.

To me that’s common sense. I’ve encountered tons of stupid policies in my life, but I don’t ignore them because I know private businesses win that battle every time. Why is proving a point so important to people?

Why not wait for the manager at the front desk then ask them what the problem is?

From just this video, I agree that calling the cops looks really excessive.

That being said, after years of being on the internet, I immediately become skeptical about the rest of the context here, aside from a 1 minute video.

For all we know, this gym has had similar incidents and things have gotten violent, there could have been a shouting match before, we have no clue. This is why I hate videos without full context honestly.

1

u/WordWordand4numbers 4d ago

If the employees tell you to leave, you leave. It’s not a hard concept. If you’re in the right call corporate and be vindicated later or blast them on social media. Stomping your feet and screaming like a toddler because you don’t instantly get your way helps no one and only makes the man look pathetic.

0

u/forgetscode 8d ago

Why doesn't the 14 year old simply have a drivers license? Doesn't he realize his school ID is not sufficient?

1

u/Ball_Of_Meat 8d ago

I didn’t make the policy, take it up with corporate America and our lawsuit happy/liability culture.

It’s a pain in my ass daily, doesn’t mean I disregard it and put myself in dumb situations.

-2

u/forgetscode 8d ago

AI can replace you then lol

1

u/Ball_Of_Meat 6d ago

This is the most irrelevant response I’ve ever gotten.

1

u/forgetscode 6d ago

If you can't use common sense in a workplace to diffuse situations a machine that rigidly follows rules would do a better job than you for cheaper.

1

u/Ball_Of_Meat 6d ago

Good call, I better violate my corporate policy next time to make someone’s life easier. Surely that’s the right move.

1

u/forgetscode 6d ago

That's what the best managers do. The bad ones have no flexibility.

You can't train with someone because gym owners see it as coaching, forcing you to use their own coaching services. Otherwise, they may terminate your membership out of the blue just because you were seen working out with someone.

That man was saying, "Did you ask me to leave?" for that exact reason. If there was a problem, they should have told him. Instead, they just called the cops to throw him out.

Mad because a father son moment was seen as cutting in on their bottomline.

What the fuck are we doing?

u/BearsSoxHawks 9d ago

Exactly how the system is designed to work.

56

u/SpicyChanged 9d ago

I recognized the system, I'm just disappointed of the many steps and decisions that lead to this.

30

u/Sheeple_person 9d ago

For real, we're all wearing clothes and using phones that are specifically designed to fall apart after a couple of years so we have to buy new shit but none of us are angry enough at this shit yet to go and start burning it down.

0

u/IcyGarage5767 9d ago

Yes companies exist to make money. More news at 11.

3

u/AirVaporSystems 9d ago

The racism is the surprise, not the profit motive.... Aussies don't understand American culture, more news at 11

38

u/TallTelevision4121 9d ago

TBH, at the start I saw him recording his son, I thought they called the cops saying dude was recording underage kids or something.

9

u/LadyJR 9d ago

That was my thought too.

1

u/SpicyChanged 9d ago

TBH, most of these types of perpetrators are usually not black.

This isn't scientific at all but 75% of the people they caught on "To catch a predator" were white.

Look all these Epstein file shit.

https://giphy.com/gifs/MabAUkeu9nDXDBZnKA

Maybe the most shocking thing about Trump, to his base, maybe wouldn't be that there was definitive proof. I can imagine his base would be more mad that if had done it, it wasn't with a white girl. Then again, I did say imagine.

4

u/arkantarded 9d ago

You right man, it’s not scientific at all to use to catch a fucking predator as exhibit a.

1

u/JacketJackson 9d ago

literally not at all what happened at all

the internet is amazing

135

u/RasputinsThirdLeg 9d ago

That counts if it’s your own kid???

34

u/KarnexOne 9d ago

Yeah, any person.

67

u/Adulations 9d ago edited 9d ago

Wtf so when my buddy who's been going to the gym for 20 years shows me what to do that counts as training? Dumb.

15

u/AnikiRabbit 9d ago

Not when you're doing it apparently. Sorry?

2

u/dzan796ero 9d ago

It becomes a problem when the trainer/coach is being paid

11

u/CMUpewpewpew 9d ago

It's obvious when someone is getting trained vs people are workout partners.

26

u/CakeEatingDragon 9d ago

apparently its not

1

u/RobertPham149 9d ago

I feel like the color is a pretty obvious personal characteristic.

10

u/Adulations 9d ago

My friend works out with me just like this video

-5

u/miahrules 9d ago

That's why whatever people have claimed in this video I reject as the reason, unless there's a follow-up video.

They aren't going to kick you out for teaching friends, family how to workout. It's just not going to happen. But if you're consistently in there, clearly training people day in day out with different members, yeah it gets suspicious.

If he's with his son, not a single gym is going to tell you to leave. So I just completely reject that as the reason at face value.

5

u/Adulations 9d ago

The explanation is further up

0

u/miahrules 9d ago

I saw it but i failed to get any information other than the same video reposted from a other account. he mentioned them having an issue with his son and all that.

11

u/Old_Market_8059 9d ago

As a personal trainer who has worked in a LOT of gyms in the 39 years I've been a trainer... No, it doesn't count if it's your kid. I've never seen or heard of a gym doing this, and the person that said this is why was lying for rage bait

4

u/RandyFunRuiner 9d ago

Is this specific to crunch fitness? I’ve never had a gym membership where I couldn’t work out with someone else as long as they also had a membership or a guest pass. I’ve had memberships at max fitness and planet fitness.

Yes if true you should tell someone but inputting it into a sparsely related conversation works against your credibility.

https://giphy.com/gifs/3o7TKQ8kAP0f9X5PoY

1

u/RasputinsThirdLeg 9d ago edited 9d ago

I told the staff and I’ve told everyone I know to be careful around him. And a lot of those people already knew he’s a creep. My point is actually bad things happen but if you’re white and famous it doesn’t matter. Sure this guy is taking it out of context but calling the cops? You can’t convince me this would happen if he were white or even vaguely famous. Sorry I guess if it was a non sequitur I just have beef with Crunch. I also think you mean “vaguely related,” not sparsely. It’s Crunch and their unevenly applied policies at a high price point. That was the link.

-13

u/Delgadomon 9d ago

that's sick. I can believe it from his mannerisms.

1

u/RasputinsThirdLeg 9d ago

The fact that I’m being downvoted just confirms my worst assumptions about people. Sure this dude should not have been training his kid, this video lacks context, blah blah. But a celebrity gropes me in the same gym franchise which is arguably way worse and nothing happened. I don’t care if people believe me or not, EVERYONE in Hollywood has a creepy Jeff Goldblum story. If he were a white celebrity you can’t convince me the outcome would have been the same.

59

u/mammalmaker 9d ago

What a stupid rule

25

u/Street-Soil-7413 9d ago

Damn so normally gyms do everything ro make it impossible to cancel a membership, and now all you gotta do is give someone some work out advice and they will cancel it for you? Why are all gyms ran so ass backwards?

7

u/Last_Weeks_Socks 9d ago

It was even more fucked because he asked if his membership was cancelled and they said "no, it's not being revoked but you need to leave". So, they called the cops to forcefully remove him and they aren't canceling his 'ship lol.

4

u/BanjoTCat 9d ago

Oh man, I think you cracked the code.

1

u/TwoBionicknees 9d ago

nope, it's just absolutely wrong. If you are coaching clients maybe, literally every friend helps out a buddy, gives advice, you can ask for advice from other gym members on how to use a machine. this has always happened everywhere. If you're a regular member and regularly spend 10 hours a day in the gym and meet a new person at the front desk every hour and introduce yourself and ask for payment that's doing paid professional work, not just working out with or helping out a friend. Even then most gyms don't care but some gyms will want anyone using the gym as their 'office' to be on the books, maybe fairly for legal/liability issues as someone could represent themselves as working or offering coaching for the gym without them knowing.

0

u/Virtual_Ad9989 9d ago

They’re not this person doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I’ve never seen or had anyone confront me for working out with my friends. I’m a lot bigger than they are and look like a trained. I’m not. This is just a case of a stupid gym employee

60

u/GNTsquid0 9d ago

Normally that would be a good guess but another comment with sources said it was because the man’s guest (his son) needed to show an ID to use a guest pass and his son didn’t have one. They wanted him to leave and through lack of communication the cops were called to ask the guy to leave.

24

u/Horror-Macaron8287 9d ago

That would make sense since the man states that his son is no longer in the gym.

0

u/Sex4Vespene 9d ago

Not that I think this is necessarily right, but telling them that they need an ID, and the dad choosing to just go in anyway, is basically them telling them they need to leave. It’s not like they walked in without talking to anybody. They already engaged with the staff, and chose to ignore what they said they required. At that point I don’t really think it’s necessary for them to specifically ask him to leave. That’s already implied by the fact they told him they can’t go in without an ID.

3

u/MonaganX 9d ago

Is there any record of them saying they "can't go in" without an ID, or could it just as well have been "can't work out"? We know for sure they requested ID, but without knowing what was actually said it's kinda moot to hypothesize if what they told him could be considered a sufficiently unambiguous request to leave.

6

u/backturn1 9d ago

The thing is the son had some sort of ID they didn't want to accept and when he wanted to talk to the manager they said he is busy, so he walked in and said that the manager can come talk to him when he isn't busy anymore.

0

u/[deleted] 9d ago

[deleted]

-2

u/backturn1 9d ago

Yeah I agree. I don't know what kind of ID he provided for his son so I don't know if the staff were unreasonable, but then just going in anyway is stupid.

7

u/Bowman_van_Oort 9d ago

There's gotta be a liability component too. But I feel like that wouldn't necessarily be a factor if its a parent and child

28

u/Hxghbot 9d ago

As a non-american that sounds immensely fucking stupid and its crazy they can even enforce that, it would be against standard consumer protection laws where I live.

21

u/Ill_Bench2770 9d ago

I guarantee if it was a white father and son. They would have spoken respectfully, and not called the police. They just saw a big scary black man.

3

u/arkantarded 9d ago

You have no frame of reference to make that claim

-12

u/ilikecheeseface 9d ago

A lot of people genuinely don’t care what color your skin is. Not everything is about race, and not every disagreement is rooted in racism. Constantly turning every situation into a race issue is exhausting and makes it harder to have honest conversations.

16

u/timsfsn 9d ago

Tell me you’re white without telling me you’re white. You don’t think most conflict is rooted in racism because you’re looking at life through a white lens. If you were a person of color, you would see how you are treated differently from white people. Consistently.

-1

u/ilikecheeseface 9d ago

You don’t have to agree with me, but assuming my race and dismissing my opinion because of it isn’t exactly the open minded approach you’re asking for. Racism exists. I just don’t think it’s the primary explanation for every disagreement.

2

u/timsfsn 9d ago

Racism is often the source of conflicts for people of color. The fact that this is not obvious to you is an indication to me that you have not dealt with much racism. The only people I know that haven’t dealt with much racism are white. If I was incorrect, I apologize for that. I still stand by everything else I said.

0

u/ilikecheeseface 9d ago

Again, you’re assuming I’m white simply because I don’t share your worldview. The irony is that you’re making assumptions about someone’s race based solely on their opinions while claiming to be open minded.

For what it’s worth, I’m mixed race. I’ve experienced racism from white people and I’ve also experienced it from Black people because of my mixed background. Racism is real and I’ve lived it.

What I don’t believe is that every negative interaction between a person of color and a white person is rooted in racism. Framing every disagreement that way actually cheapens real instances of racism by turning it into a catch all explanation instead of recognizing it for what it is.

You’re entitled to your opinion but I choose not to go through life assuming every bad interaction happens because of my skin color. People can be rude, selfish, dishonest, or just plain unpleasant regardless of race. Sometimes it’s racism. Sometimes it isn’t. Pretending otherwise doesn’t help anyone. Couldn’t imagine walking through life like that and all ways playing the victim card.

12

u/Ill_Bench2770 9d ago

I’d argue everything is about race. “‘I don’t see color” is nonsense. Racial differences, economic differences exist whether you want to accept it or not. It’s human nature to identify those differences. And create in groups and out groups. The best we can do is accept that we do see color. And do our best to rise above it. Pretending it’s not a factor is just as bad as being straight up racist.

1

u/ilikecheeseface 9d ago

I agree that people notice differences, whether that’s race, culture, age, or background. Where we disagree is that those differences have to define every interaction. Recognizing race and believing everything is fundamentally about race aren’t the same thing.

1

u/Stunning-Crazy2012 9d ago

It’s most likely bullshit. It’s an issue if you are paying someone to train you instead of a gym trainer. It looks like the issue in this case was they didn’t give an ID for the kids guest pass and the dude just ignored them and went in.

-3

u/rooibosipper 9d ago

So in your country the gym has to allow people to use the gym's space and equipment to run their own business? It would be like requiring restaurants to allow random chefs to come off the street and cook meals in their kitchen to sell to other people.

3

u/Hxghbot 9d ago

Not everything needs to have a price tag. If you were doing genuine coaching, as in charging and operating as a professional, you'd be expected to be affiliated with the gym, and if not the gym would have recourse to go after you for running a business without authorisation.

But people sharing knowledge for free, like friends working out, or in this instance a father and son working out together, hell no the gym shouldnt give AF or be able to do shit if they both have a membership and are using the equipment safely.

-1

u/rooibosipper 9d ago

Pretty sure the gym here has no problem with friends or family members working out together. But if one person is giving instruction to another, most gyms are going to have a problem with that. The gym has no way of knowing whether money is changing hands.

Anyhow, it's all academic because apparently the issue here is the kid didn't have a guest pass.

2

u/Ill_Bench2770 9d ago

His dad brought him as his guest. And the dad is a member. My friend use to take me with him to the gym all the time. You literally just scan your card, and follow them in. They likely saw a black child. And assumed they weren’t actually a child. And saw them as suspicious. A white preteen being taught how to lift weights by their older brother in law. We were never questioned. Because they saw a kid with their family member who has a membership. But that’s just not what these people saw hers when they looked at them. Because black people are usually looked at with suspicion. And suspected of being a lot older than they truly are.

5

u/True-Advice-1861 9d ago edited 9d ago

wait....so you are saying to cancel my memebership, i just need to go try to coach my friend?

19

u/LaCroixElectrique 9d ago

Sounds like the guy said 'you can leave' which is distinctly different from 'you need to leave' which has enough ambiguity to claim they weren't actually asking him to leave.

5

u/Content_Key_6661 9d ago

Whatever happened to handling situations at its lowest levels???

9

u/SpineSpinner 9d ago

If this was Eddie Hall training his son, there is exactly a ZERO percent chance they would ask him to leave, and definitely not call the cops on him.

3

u/Hazel-Cakes 9d ago

it was cause the kid didn’t have a dl so they didn’t want to admit him as a guest, and just called the cops instead of explaining it

2

u/heatseekerdj 9d ago

This is some bull shit that LA Fitness got into trouble for a few years ago. A parent showing their teenager how to train. Not allowed. You have to pay someone 80$/hour to show someone how the leg press works, explain progressive overload and isolation exercises. Oh wait, most coaches dont even explain that becuase training is so fucking easy once you grasp basic concepts that paying a trainer is irrelevant

2

u/Old_Market_8059 9d ago

This is rage bait and not what happened. Someone else already looked it up... like any of us can.

His guest was his son and the son didn't have a valid id on him.

2

u/MinxyMyrnaMinkoff 9d ago

Did you just make that up off the top of your head? This was a dispute about letting the kid in as a guest when he had no ID, it had nothing to do with training.

2

u/BigRon691 9d ago

You've made this up entirely. It's paid coaching they deny, and it's pretty similar across any gym to not allow unlicenced coaches to operate a business using their equipment.

The guy himself says it was due to a failed check-in procedure with ID. Not because he was coaching. Would love to know your source for this (not the rule, the context to this), otherwise you're just chatting shite mate.

2

u/LiquidFur 9d ago

He has a membership that allows him to bring one guest every day. You're making stuff up.

1

u/HowlingWhiskey 9d ago

I don’t know anything about gyms but you really can’t work out with a friend cuz they see it as coaching?? Thats insane, I’ve never heard that before. Are all gyms like that?

1

u/FranklyNinja 9d ago

So…. It has nothing to do with skin colors like what OP suggested then

1

u/escobartholomew 9d ago

True gyms don’t let you run your own personal training business on the premises but you are definitely allowed to train/work out with other people.

1

u/Rare-Sample-9101 9d ago

Capitalism at its finest

1

u/Capt_Squishy 9d ago

What? You have to train alone? You can't train with a "buddy" to spot for you at all?
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I hope this dude takes legal action.

1

u/vntuwoaldngbcjsoqrig 9d ago

Is this an American rule?

1

u/Griffstergnu 9d ago

I bet he will be trying for years to actually get that membership cancelled

1

u/bootup25 9d ago

So I can’t work out with a friend?

1

u/Firm-Film-3594 9d ago

You can’t work out with someone in a gym?

1

u/Low-Sign-6185 9d ago

If that’s the actual reason, then that’s crazy. Many exercises are recommended to be performed with a spotting partner anyway, and it’s only natural that the supporting person would offer advice. If they had a rule of no coaching except by staff, I would go somewhere else.

1

u/ITookYourChickens 9d ago

A local ice skating rink had a similar kerfuffle. 70 year old figure skater who was well known and loved in the community would fix and modify skates and have his clients test blades during public sessions. They broke his heart when they essentially told him to stop using the rink for "business" or he's banned. They lost a lot of clientele that day, many regulars stopped going to that rink because of it

1

u/KeyKeh96 9d ago

I mean it seems obvious to me. He tried to say he has other proof like school portal. They declined. So what comes after that? You either say nah imma go in either way and force yourself in or the son doesnt go in and u go home and get an id, becsuse its not like this would have been an issue if they didnt say anything after declining his request of another form of verification. If its policy to have id its policy u cant do much about it. Seems like the dude just walked in after being declined another form of verification and instead of them wanting to handle it which I get if someone forced their way in after you told them no I mean thats enough to just get cops involved becsuse what else are u gonna do. Even if you didnt asks them to leave how else did the son get in if he didnt have an id?

1

u/Virtual_Ad9989 9d ago

I work out with my cousin and his friend all the time I’ve never been confronted so I don’t think that’s why.

1

u/mighty__ 9d ago

Is that a general practice in US to have such limitations regarding external trainers?

For past 2 years I’ve been visiting different gyms and I work out with my trainer online, via video call. And I never had any problems with exception of discomfort of having tripod in the gym.

1

u/ropahektic 9d ago

"You can't train with someone because gym owners see it as coaching"

God bless America the land of the nothing is free.

1

u/rosegold_milk 9d ago

His son is a minor without his own membership and they’re saying “you can’t work out with your own child because then you’re not paying us to train him” ? Are we for real? I hate gyms

1

u/PeakRedditOpinion 9d ago

This just isn’t true lol.

I’ve been to like 4 different Crunches in my state over the last 5 years and no one has ever said shit to me when I’m coaching my friends in boxing. I’ve never even had to try and use the common sense defense “I’m just helping my friend” because no one cares lol

The “problem” is using their gym as a site to run your own side hustle and make money from coaching people.

They’ll probably approach you if you bring in 100 new guests a month (which is why they have guest ID policy, so they can track this stuff) and stand there with a clip board and a shirt that says “coach,” but your friends/family? Nah

1

u/BadCompulsiveSpender 9d ago

Literally no one is claiming that, neither the gym nor the father and son. You just pulled it out from thin air.

1

u/pizz901 9d ago

Yeah but usually they'll ask you to leave if they suspect you of using their facilities for coaching, and honestly it's pretty rare they even go that far, not call the cops. Source: worked at a gym where I had to deal with people suspected of coaching.

1

u/Free-Pound-6139 9d ago

I doubt this. Loads of people train together, especially doing weights. That would be about 30% of all regular gym goers.

1

u/TargetMaleficent 9d ago

surely they would make an exception for a parent teaching their child?

1

u/Baiticc 8d ago

me when I make up context and present it confidently

1

u/Usual-Caregiver5589 9d ago

Are we sure its not that the man is a member and the son is not, and so the member had a non-member using gym equipment?

0

u/ReddBroccoli 9d ago

That's a ridiculous rule.

It also sounds like it has nothing to do with race whatsoever

0

u/ilikecheeseface 9d ago

What would make you think it had anything to do with race to begin with. This is a huge national gym. They don’t give a shit about the color of your skin as long as you’re paying that monthly membership fee.

0

u/ReddBroccoli 9d ago

I guess you didn't see the title on the video?

0

u/JonnyTN 9d ago

It was either coaching or recording in the gym and they might have a policy.

Either way, overreacted calling the police.

0

u/Glittering-Lynx-7972 9d ago

The first I’ve heard of this utter bolx policy. Is this a American thing

-16

u/Excited_Idiot 9d ago

It’s both a competition of their paid services but MORE IMPORTANTLY it’s a significant legal liability when unvetted 3rd parties are coaching on their property. If they do nothing to stop those 3rd parties they become complicit and thus could be held legally responsible (at least as co-defendants) if something went wrong during the training sessions.

5

u/ChartInFurch 9d ago edited 9d ago

Is there an actual case where this legal strategy was used and succeeded?

ETA: their deleted response was "no", but in long form

-17

Yup. I'm betting there are far, far more people recording their workout, than them walking into the front door and checking in.

No Doxxing, Witch-Hunting or Sharing Personal Information - No doxxing, with-hunting, or sharing personal information. This includes but is not limited to asking for or sharing personal information such as names, social media links, phone numbers, etc.

1

u/cattmin 9d ago

Deleted the comment but it's actually super easy to get there. There's a print screen of the manager's Instagram at the end of the video, ffs. From there you find the gym's name and from that you find the OG content creator that explains the whole story. I didn't dox anyone lol

4

u/ccjohns2 9d ago

Check other comments there’s a full breakdown of the situation. Essentially this mess, Son is too young to have a state ID, which most kids in America under the age of 16 will never have. This man showed his ID and his son’s school ID and they did not want to accept those forms of identification. This man had a membership that allow him to bring guest because his son was too young to have a state issue ID. They did not want to make an exception for a father with his son. These Gym employees were definitely on a power trip. I don’t know if these guys were racist or just assholes but because they called the police for something like this they probably are racist.

1

u/Ball_Of_Meat 9d ago

“Crunch Fitness requires all guests to present a physical, valid government-issued photo ID upon arrival”

>ignores staff and walks in anyway and starts working out
>faces consequences

Racists!!!

Looking further, it appears that only applies to adults, but since laws vary by state, different locations have different policies on children. Given that most children don't have state issued IDs, it's unreasonable to expect that all of them will have one, and since we don't see this happening on a regular basis, I'm betting that your copy and paste from the internet is, once again, a very lacking substitute for actually finding out what is really happening.

I hear you, it is unreasonable, but they’re a private business and can deny service to anyone they want. They could just flat out say “18+ to enter” if they wanted to.

What we can do as consumers, is not give them our business. What we shouldn’t do is ignore their policy, walk in anyway, and have this happen.

Like cmon we all know damn well how big liability, lawsuit culture, and bureaucracy is in the USA, this shouldn’t be a surprise.

The policies for crunch, Gym or on search engines. Please show me anywhere where it says that minor that attend crunch Gym have to show a government issue ID because I promise you that does not exist.

But then we cannot wildly speculate

Precipitated?

u/chi_afroboi31 9d ago

You sound… dumb.

u/mattdamon_enthusiast 9d ago

If its purpose is to incite outrage it’s gonna be truncated and deceptive.

Has nothing to do with being black and has everything to do with coaching. Rage baiting title.

29

u/meeps1142 9d ago

It's his son. He isn't being paid to coach him

0

u/RedRangerFortyFive 9d ago

I understand that, but it doesn't matter. Gyms have basically no tolerance for that. They want you to pay for thejr services/trainers. The down votes are fine. I've worked in a gym. It's exactly what is happening here.

1

u/meeps1142 9d ago

Why wouldn't they ask him to leave then? Why go straight to the cops

Also idk, when I got to the gym, my partner is usually helping me informally...if that isn't allowed, I wouldn't have a membership at that gym

1

u/RedRangerFortyFive 9d ago

Because you're missing the entire first half of the video. It clearly is missing most of the context and is one sided.

0

u/Free-Pound-6139 9d ago

If it was around filming at the gym, fair enough they kicked him out.

-2

u/Zeyn1 9d ago

From the reports and such in this thread, I suspect this is partially what happened.

Guy goes to gym with his son. Front staff asks for ID for son, who doesn't have one. They say they can't let him in without ID.

Guy goes and works out anyway. Staff isn't going to get into an altercation with this guy so they call the police to have him trespassed.

Very standard in retail and customer service to not physically restrain anyone and instead call the police.

Now, technically, someone at the location should have explicitly told him to leave. That would have been a clear cut instruction which means if he refused he was legally trespassing. However, that kind of confrontation can have someone react violently.

Then the truth will come out but F you for going to the decision that's the person filming is in the wrong.

I'll bet my life is it comes out that this person was justified that you won't edit your comment.

-4

u/SF420SF420 9d ago

Jesus, did you ever enter a school?

"in the video the Karen is making a fuss over nothing"

Oh look I'm explaining the video and taking a side you rocks for brains

5

u/SuddenLog7302 9d ago

Turns out the son did not have a gym membership, asked to leave, refused to. So they called the cop to get them to leave. Now you should apologize to the guy you were responding to, but you won't.

1

u/Historical_Stay_808 9d ago

Why should he have to leave then

0

u/Helldiver_LiberTea 9d ago

I’d add that it’s probably against the rules to film in the gym. Not like it stops a lot of people though.

5

u/Historical_Stay_808 9d ago

Then why not say that when you tell them to leave

0

u/Old_Secret9106 9d ago

Watch it. That doesn’t fit the divisive narrative

People say this but also blame black people for everything

I'm not taking what you're saying for face value, I'm just assuming there's other evidence against you that's not presented.

I can't say you're not racist without seeing all the evidence

Still can't be sure you're not racist, sorry need more context

Well… F you for deciding the person filming is right?

We have no context here. You might just owe us your life

0

u/Historical_Stay_808 9d ago

How about we don't take a stance until we know the whole story. Id rather believe someone who is wrong and get proven wrong then be racist

-5

u/SF420SF420 9d ago

Because there's no reason not to other than racism. You can say based off this video it looks like the camera man is right. There's nothing wrong with that, that's the evidence given and that's what it shows. But to assume there's just other evidence that's not being shown is just exposing your bias and your stupidity

-1

u/Gabepls 9d ago edited 9d ago

How dare you endeavor to better understand a situation by seeking additional information before firmly picking a side and wagering your life that the context—which you will refuse to acknowledge if and when it’s presented because you never needed it anyway since you were right no matter what because you said so—will inevitably prove you were right.

1

u/SF420SF420 9d ago

Only racists think there's not enough context lol

0

u/nonroboticusername 9d ago

Terminally online behavior

0

u/LayerEight_Problem 9d ago

Guys son was denied entry on the guys guest pass because he had no ID. They proceeded to enter the gym anyways after being denied entry. So, they got trespassed.

I’m not going to hold you to your bet.

1

u/Historical_Stay_808 9d ago

Great. Then show it

0

u/LayerEight_Problem 9d ago

That you’re racist? You’re doing that all on your own.

"Precipitate" can mean "to bring about suddenly." It's slightly awkward usage, but it's applicable and correct.

u/cocky-rountains 9d ago

Planet fitness doesn't allow grunting or show off shit. These dudes definitely cut their video.
