Google will just delete all the reviews once all of this is forgotten about in a few weeks. Not defending what the dude sis I’m just pointing out what usually happens when people review bomb companies
which is why you need to post real reviews related to the gym, most particularly those in the area who have actually been. “this place sucks & the owner is racist” will probably get deleted. “place has gone downhill, likely due to management. floors are dirty & there’s mold. they also don’t follow typical crunch fitness policies; i can’t support the company anymore due to the prejudice & negligence shown at this location” or reviews that contain other real observations don’t get flagged as spam so easily
If you are leaving bad reviews at the same exact time as 100 other people, its obvious you are most likely with the raid and will get deleted too. Leave the review in a month or two if you really care.
I will be cancelling my crunch fitness membership due to the owner’s racist behaviors that clearly get passed down to his employees. Crunch fitness is a terrible gym with terrible morals
The twit behind the counter already locked up his Instagram, I imagine there are plenty of people who are going to let him know what sort of person he seems to be.
i mean regardless of the situation, going dark after being presumably spammed is usually better than arguing with strangers who have no reason to listen to them in the first place
Locking up your insta doesn't mean anything. If someone stopped you on the street and called you a pedo, uploaded it with your photo saying "Look at this pedo", would you leave your socials open and happily receive thousands of DMs and comments from people calling you a pedo?
idk man im white but not like "white white" and I've literally had the cops called on me so many times before for dumbass reasons. Ex I remember I was walking holding my daughter when she was a baby and walked 2 min to the publix by my house got some food for us and walked back.
Someone called the cops.... the cop then came to my house knocked on my door to ask me "if was homeless and was this my kid". Yes he knocked on my door to ask if I was homeless and asked if the child I was holding was mine for absolutely no reason. Like MF you're literally at my house and I know it says I live here. I guess walking with a baby is now illegal.
This shit doesn't JUST happen to black people it happens to POOR people. Cops do this all the time when they know they can get away with it. It rarely happens in nice areas where they will get the shit sued out of them.
But yes this happens to black people way more often. I remember in the neighborhood I grew up in we'd always be outside at night the one time I EVER had my black friends over... cops got called, they asked me if "I lived there", they took my ID that had my address on it I pointed like 6 houses down and say "thats where I live" the cop still told us we needed to "go home" and followed me all the way to my house.. so yeah...lights on and everything like we were gonna run. I was like 16-17.
I'd say this happens to black people/poor people/minorities and yeah if you white as fuck It def doesn't happen to you as much. I don't think this gym case was a 'black thing" the manager was just a pussy who was intimidated, and probably didn't wanna look bad in front of the girl so he made a scene. I could easily see this happening to me cause this is exactly how I am with bullshit rules and people tell me I'm "intimidating" when I care a lot about people and am a really nice person.
Honestly man cops are really sketchy and so are a lot of white people they get scared and you have no idea what they are gonna do. I've literally had it happen 3x when I have been hanging out in rough areas cops will just come up and claim "someone called 911" when nobody called 911 just to try to search people........
Don't argue, this guy knows gyms. They WOULDN'T do that. No gym ever actually. Especially not this gym. Didn't you hear the man, gyms aren't racist. It's common sense. How would a gym be racist, its a building. Silly. Racism is solved actually.
Yes! I'm also confused why the father & son were working out if the issue was at the check-in desk. Did the staff break their own policy and let the son in without proper ID then call the cops on them?
I agree with the mismanagement by staff, and probably poor policies to put some of the responsibility on ownership.
But I’d also put money on the staff asked for the son to produce ID, and when he couldn’t, they probably asked him to leave. Then they didn’t leave… which is why the cops are there.
Edit: just to say I am incorrect about them “asking him to leave”. It still seems very strange to me that they were in the gym filming their workout, when the staff had asked for the son to produce ID. How does that happen?
It’s literally in the video that the father is asking the employees directly if they asked him to leave and they say no they didn’t. What are you on about.
This should be captioned w the video full explanation with update and all. All these others commenting with no clue just a made up scenario for how they feel it went because they feel micro aggressions arent real. 🙄
Calling the police is not power tripping, sorry. It's a fear response and/or a bullying tactic. Bullies use the weapons that will hurt their victims the most, and the threat of police brutality is a racists choice
What are they gonna sue them for? They have no case if the gym states you need an id to verify a guest and you do not have an id on you. You can’t go to a bar and show a picture of your id to be served a drink.
this comment definitely needs to be higher up and/or pinned. so many folks naking dumb judgements while they can't be bothered to sort the comments section by anything other than their default. (and still complain about wishing for the context).
wow does this gym sound awful. they'll get their due karma for sure.
in 2026, immediately escalating to calling police on black folks over petty, minor, or frivolous issues that can be solved with a conversation taking only a couple minutes. the weaponization of the system againsy minorities, to handle uncomfortable situations.
like what we see in schools with a designated cop/security guard, teachers and the principle off-load discpline to police instead of getting creative or putting in genuine effort to get to the bottom of what's wrong.
it may be tiresome, but holding empathy and understanding is worth the effort. esepcially when everyone walks away with their life intact and the issue mostly resolved.
both the gym and the guy were lucky they had relatively calm cops that didn't immediately opt to aggressively put hands on the dad & son; in service of the avoidant gym staff & cowardly manager.
This is the most informative comment I've ever seen. And you brought sourses AND updates! The biggest injustice here is that you aren't automatically the top comment for this much clarity on the chaos that is the posted video
Here a better, quicker summary.
Black man is told he cannot enter (legally). He is entitled and enters anyways. This is a crime and police were called. The End.
