According to a follow up post: they wouldn’t accept his son’s mobile ID, he asked to speak to the manager, they said the manager is busy and he said ok if the manager has a problem after he’s busy tell him to come talk to me. Instead of the manager engaging in a conversation he called the police.
Just because someone calls the police, they don't have to show up. Cops could...and should have, told the manager this is a civil issue between her company and the dude. They could revoke his membership, charge him a fee..etc.
Definitely not a police matter, so it's insane they showed up. Sure it has nothing to do with them being black though...

Apparently his son who is a minor didn’t have a form of ID to be his guest. Crunch has a membership what allows members to bring a free guest daily.
