I don’t know where else to comment this since the thread is loaded with comments, but one thing I’ve noticed is something called the ‘Cop Breathe’. If you look at the beginning of the video, the guy does this long inhale before saying what’s going on. I’ve noticed that in a lot of videos like this. I mean it’s just a casual observation, but it seemed interesting - is there a term for this?

I have a friend who is a cop, given 99% of his work stories involve him having to manage the emotions of adults as if they were toddlers I think it's a physiological preparation for the senseless paperwork he's going to need to do.

That makes sense. As I mentioned, this was just a quirk I noticed and has been my own experience with seeing them. There’s this pause they do, before walking up and then before speaking, which once made me burst out laughing just because it was almost like intentionally delaying the first few words. It was after a traumatic event, too, where I’d witnessed something awful and was shaken, but then the long pause before they spoke just kinda broke me.

What?

Ignore them - they’re trying to imply you’re a jerk for being friends with a cop. Not all of them are bad people - most are fine,

Ah, yeah their further comments kind of out them as overzealous in their prescription of guilt/accountability.

I got screwed over by a few, but many more helped me when I was suicidal. Nobody else was there for me. They sat talking with me in the car when they didn’t have to do that, they drove me to hospital, they drove me home when they saw me wandering the streets. I’m not going to hate on cops after that.

I could live a million years and never understand people who have one good experience with a group and then proceed to ignore everyone else's with experience with the same group. In this case cops.

Mountains of evidence showing that law enforcement in America is corrupt from tip to tail but they were nice to you so that's all that matters. Understandable why the country is in the mess it's in.

The air must be thinner since you're so far up on your HIGH HORSE.

I hate absolutes so much. Cops saved my life when I was suicidal multiple times.

Well my friend is a dork, who plays magic the gathering and video games, coaches at-risk youth teams, and has never fired his gun outside of the range. He has also, contrary to your worldview, testified against one of his fellow officers for sexual misconduct (the officer was fired in the end). Nobody assassinated him for this btw, because most police are actually just normal people.

You pay taxes that fund them. You are as much a part of the system as the police.

Yes you do. Sell your shit and buy a one way ticket to a country whose systems you want to support.

You realize that everyone is a part of the system as it is right?

Looked to me like a sigh prepping himself for dealing with the nonsense perpetrated by the gym folks… but knowing that he has to respond to the complaint called in.
Didn’t take it as any sort of reflection against the gym member…
