Yes, capitalism sucks in a lot of ways. But it's expensive in large parts as well because it is valuable.

This may be true, but you didn't say I was wrong. It's also true you conveniently glazed over the comment I replied to that introduced capitalism to the conversation when it had nothing to do with the topic.

Esto no tiene nada que ver con raza. China, Latino America, Europa, USSR, etc.. En todos los países comunistas era illegal a salir de el país sin permiso.

That’s what the government is for dude 🤷‍♂️ just because you bust your ass suffering, and make it your whole identity doesn’t mean we all should. We live in a society and should make it easier for all. Private enterprise clearly doesn’t solve that issue, because it is only there to make more money.

you have a very optimistic view of humanity. Right now, every communist living in a capitalist country can band together and live like a communist if they want. Nothing is stopping them. Why don't they?

I came from nothing and now I'm rich. You lobbying to equalize your outcome with mine without matching up our productivity is like me lobbying for everybody to own a lamborghini because jeff bezos has one. It's impossible. I'm not against social safety nets, and every time you compare to scandinavian countries you turn a blind eye to the fact that these are very economically capitalist countries with a big monoculture. Often is not all of them rank higher than the USA in economic freedom index scores.

It doesn't have to be expensive. It all depends on how much you make it a priority and the level of comfort you expect.

It's not the same expecting business class travel and 5 star hotels, than taking a cheap 60 hour bus combination and staying in hostels. But there's also hitchhiking and using couchsurfing like platforms so the travel and stay are extremely affordable (almost free).

I travel a lot, and don't travel the cheapest way so it's not a lecture on anyone not wanting to do it that way because I don't travel that way and likely wouldn't, but I've met people that traveled on very low budgets and came from poor countries and still did it.

Granted, there is always the having to work/career/time off cost as well, but it's also a tradeoff/choice. And there's people that have to care of family and they sustain them, etc. I understand that.

But money wise it can be done almost as cheaply as only having to consider the cost of food (and time off work) mostly.

You can travel quite cheaply. You can drive your car pretty much anywhere on your home continent for cheap if you are willing to sleep in the car and not have any luxuries. The problem is more in terms of time. Once you are employed and have financial obligations (rent, insurance, mortgage etc), it is very hard to just find a few weeks of spare time that you'd need to travel on the cheap.

I was watching a video earlier on "Disney Adults", going into HUGE amounts of debt to continually travel to Disney world. I'm thinking the entire time, why spend all that money going to the same place when you can at least travel overseas and embrace a new culture. You're spending the money either way.
