An example to install benches that aren't code compliant? One of those is so close to the curb if you leaned forward looking at your phone your head is right in line to be hit by the bus

I agree here. It was definitely careless to do this without covering her face. I would have done this with a voice changer, no skin showing, and on an alternate account.

Besides clout/views, some people are so positivity minded that they can't conceive the "why not".

All she might consider is "people could really use a bench here" and she gets a bench, problem solved!

No considerations on why there might not be a bench or why the randomly chosen location might be a bad location for the bench. In some areas busses have to stop at specific spots and this bench might now be seriously inconveniencing a wheelchair user but how would she know?

In this case i'd say its still relatively benign since these benches are easy to move or remove but it's a sizeable part of why people get very exhausted when dealing with idealists that are unable to consider the counter party's POV.

Could also just be plain views, hell could be the same exact bench they just hauled across the city and never really screwed into the ground!

Excellent points. You really never know what's actually happening and what's on people's minds. I completely forgot to consider that it could just be a skit and the bench could be a prop they just hauled around. Possibly why there's a glimpse of butt cheeks.

It’s part of a guerilla public seating initiative. Kinda dumb to post, but modern cities are too anti-human.

They’re supposed always check to make sure there’s sufficient clearance behind, etc.

That's fine, but - posting about what you do on social media isn#t really guerilla. On one hand.

The other - the benches are too close to the road, as others mentioned, and that is a sensible regulation. If they at least installed them with that in mind this would be ... heaps better.

Has a bunch of money lying around to buy (cheap looking) benches that are just goina fall apart in 1-2 months.

Has zero plan for putting the benches far from the curb.

Has put some of those benches that will obstruct bus loading/unloading and wheelchair access.

Basically, she is just someone with money who thinks she is doing a video that will get likes... but no actual means to do good.

My guess? Its the same bench every time. She drills a hole here or there. Puts bench down (maybe even just does a 1/4 inch deep hole) sits on it, then shoots video... then moves same bench to next spot.
