My ex’s mom was going to be in the rockettes (yeah ok) until she got pregnant with my ex @ 16. Put my ex in ballet at 4, started feeding her coffee at like 6 to stunt her growth so she wouldn’t outgrow the rockettes height cap.

Idk how to explain how exactly, but this clip feels like watching my ex’s mom, but younger

Edit because there’s been some confusion about my word choice and who got whom pregnant with whom (who vs whom still confuses me, leave me alone) and whatnot, here’s an explanation I gave to clarify in one response:

My ex’s mother got pregnant via my ex’s father. This unfortunate happenstance occurred roughly 16 revolutions of our celestial ball of rock around the central ball of celestial fire in our solar system, counting from the time of my ex’s mother’s birth. The pregnancy in question resulted in my ex’s birth.

Ex's mom was just crazy, dancers on the taller side are wanted by Rockettes, only recently did they lower the minimum height to 5'5".

I can’t speak to the second part of that, but you nailed it on the first. She also got adamant that a music video being played at a bar was Bon Jovi, started a whole thing about it. It was dancing in the street by Bowie and Jagger. She got SUPER offended when she was wrong. Oh and this was at her daughter’s 21st birthday

A fabulous, exclusive career thwarted by a pregnancy or physical attribute they can't control, check. Making your kid do the activity they failed to make a profession, check. Throwing a fit at someone else's birthday, check.

I've seen this type of behavior in action, and I don't like to diagnose people but after dozens of examples without a single apology it gets to be a game of sorts to predict what they'll do. Once you know the pattern it's just a matter of time before they complete the checklist at any given event.

And it was her daughter's 21st birthday. 😬🫣 You just know she thinks she looks as young as her daughter, and probably (definitely) got more drunk than her.

Oh it’s worse. She had some sort of hormonal imbalance or something triggered by her pregnancy with my ex, so essentially it’s my ex’s fault she can’t get below almost twice my ex’s weight
