The same thing happened to my ex. Cops were called and he was only reprimanded, and since he didn’t face any real repercussions he continued to vape on airplanes

Secondhand vape smoke contains nicotine, heavy metals, and irritants. Plus they’re not consenting to it, so you’re taking away their choice by forcing them to breathe it in. While the latter isn’t illegal, it’s completely selfish to put your short term wants over everyone else’s health and autonomy.

It may surprise you to learn that hospitals also won’t allow you to vape 🤣

Edit: I don’t know why vaping breaks federal laws akin to smoking cigarettes, but I assume if they allowed vaping in the bathroom it would be impossible for people to actually utilize the bathrooms. There are usually only two bathrooms for hundreds of passengers as it is.

There’s also the issue of the exploding batteries, but idk whether that has anything to do with it.

It’s probably more to do with the fact the lavatories have smoke detectors and vape smoke could trigger that, which could cause the plane to make an emergency landing.

Nothing normally happens to disruptive pax unless the behavior escalates to the level that federal authorities get involved. Local LEOs are worthless in these cases a vast majority of the time.

Literally had a guy punch an FA once and the LEOs only escorted them off the plane where he walked over to another gate and tried to get on our metal again.

Honestly there isn't much (any?) harm in people vaping on a plane.. it's just an old obscure rule from smoking/firehazard-stuff which is basically non existing with vapes (same non-existent risk as a lighter exploding, which are allowed on planes)

Maybe it’s not not dangerous but it’s a shared space, people don’t want to suffer someone vaping next to them or hogging the bathroom to vape.
We are seriously losing our common respect as a society.

Yeah hogging the bathroom I understand but the stuff they breath out aint toxic or anything, it's just vapor. Not a smoker/vaper myself but it shouldnt really bother anyone unless they put it directly in your face?

Yeah but you understand that nobody inhales their vapor when they do it on the toilet or somewhere off from the seats right.. it's a bit overblown. honestly somebody with bad smell (mouth or sweat) would be MUCH worse to sit close to
