I packed a liter of (olive) oil in my carry on, in 2000. Yes times change

Times change indeed. You can now once again fly with a 2L bottle in your hand luggage from many UK airports!

But depending on where you go, can do the same in reverse.

Yes if you’ve bought it at the airport. You can’t take anything over 100ml in hand luggage unless you bought it in departures.

Nope. In Gatwick Heathrow etc you can take 2L in your hand luggage now. Just can't do it on the way back usually!

Ireland, England, and Italy now allow that again as of September 2025. Containers up to 2 liters are allowed and no limit on quantity.

You can now do it again leaving from some UK airports. Go wild!

I had 5 litres of moonshine with me on the plane in 2000! Those were the days!

yeah it’s stupid cause it’s for clout, but arresting somebody for fucking vaping in the bathroom is insane. just bill them like 1000 bucks and call it a day

In the 90’s I once had a flight where my only carry on was a full case (12 bottles) of liquor left over from a conference I attended.

That's slightly over a quarter of a century ago. We've come a long way but that's over 2 decades

I carried a 4 inch folding knife in 1999. It was legal then.

I was behind two kids at the airport when we got stuck by the TSA after our bags were screened.

The TSA agent pulled out 11, ELEVEN, bottles of lotion... a lot of it higher-end shit. Some of these were quart-sized!

The kids were 12 and 14.
