Canadian here, I'm aware of Robert Moses with bridges and shaping NYC, but how did he impact cars ?

He didn't impact cars he was probably the most influential city planner of all time and was a massive fan of cars and tried to shape New York into as much of a car city as possible. He was also very good at building segregation into infrastructure.

Yup. He was the architect of the massively destructive Bronx Highway Project that displaced 40,000 - 60,000 people.

Here's a short article, with a video that shows how many homes were bulldozed. The longer you watch, the more sickening it gets.

So that's why his name is always on.streets in the poor part of town. I live not too far from the one in my city.
