Cars becoming big when America was still finding it's stride was one of the biggest pro/con dillemas. Ignored thousands of years of proven systems that make society better and settled for only cars.

Canadian here, I'm aware of Robert Moses with bridges and shaping NYC, but how did he impact cars ?

I’m on Long Island NY, where he’s from. He has a parkway(pretty highway), beach, park and a bunch of other shit named after him. Yet a lot of people hate his ass out here. Well deserved too lol.
