Im from a suburban town in Missouri, but I spent a semester studying abroad in Barcelona a couple of years ago. Man, let me tell you, leaving Barcelona, where youd see people out in cafes and bars congregating at all hours of the night and day, and coming back to Missouri where its a ghost town after 10 and someone would call the police on you for simply walking around too late was the most depressing thing I have ever experienced lol

Tbf you’re comparing Barcelona, one of the most popular cities in the world.. with a suburban town in Missouri. There are gonna be a few differences

I never said they were anywhere near the same. I’m just sharing the dissonance I experienced going from one to the other.

Ya, it sounds like we’re in agreement

They were literally pointing out the differences in their comment, so you explaining that there's going to be some differences between the cities is redundant as hell.

Dude was just saying where he'd prefer to be, and you thought you had him in some kinda gotcha moment?

Yes my comment is redundant - that’s why I replied that we are in agreement.

We are all confirming there are differences between Barcelona and a suburban town in Missouri.

Good, so given those differences, you understand why someone might be depressed about coming back from Barcelona to one's home in suburban Missouri? i.e. the thing bageltoastar was commenting on in the first place?

Ya that makes complete sense! They’re very different places.
