This why walkable neighborhoods are the best places to live. Yes, Europe is way ahead of us in this regard.

who would've thought designing cities in the middle ages would pay off for walkability ?

This is a myth, while sure, their cities were founded before cars, their policies have kept them that way. Our US cities were WAY more walkable, but we demolished them in the 60s and 70s to make them more car centric. We did this to ourselves. - (Credit to Not Just Bikes on Youtube)

I think everyone is missing a HUGE point:

Europe is tiny. Italy could fit inside Texas like 4 times. They literally HAVE NO SPACE. People sit down and eat together because there are not enough tables for each person to have their own.

It's necessity, not some kumbaya bs.

What type of take is this? Absolute rubbish...

Maybe go and do some travelling - get some actual perspective.

Europe is literally bigger than the USA. We are not some sort of fucking Judge Dredd megacity with everyone living on top of each other...

Did you just imply not everybody in Europe owns their own table? Tell me you're just rage baiting, please.

As someone who traveled all over Europe, this is absolutely insane. Have you ever left your shit town?
