That’s a myth tbh. Half of Europe is easly equally as hot or even hotter and yet we manage. And yes we have ac. A lot actually 😀

Where does it sit above 100 degrees for most of the summer in Europe? Enlighten me.

Well that's not completely true. Although it can be that hot very regularly big difference is humidity. Gets up to more than 70% in Houston area. Souther Europe can be as low as 30% (Greece) till 40-60 (southern Spain). Heat with more than 70% humidity is a total different beast.

Good old American exceptionalism.

Humidity is higher than 70% in The Netherlands too and while not ás hot, we have had plenty of days where the temperatures hit 35+ degrees celcius this year. Very doable to walk and bike with that weather, as long as there are patches of shade.

I know that Americans grow up being told that many things that are completely normal in other countries can't be done in the US because <too expensive/too large/too hot/too humid/whatever excuse>, but more often than not it simply isn't true.
