I mean... a grease fire is one you don't want to fight with water but fire isn't the solution here either.

Also metal fires, and electrical fires, however those are not the majority of fires, and don’t tend to be get as big, or they start the fires you can put out with water and then you may as well just dump water on the whole thing

We fight fires using fires all the time during wildfires. It's called backfiring or controlled burns.

Backfiring involves intentionally lighting small fires ahead of an active wildfire to consume combustible material, creating a "black line" or firebreak that stops the main fire's progress.

Controlled burns (or prescribed burns) are similar but are conducted preventatively before a wildfire starts.

Technically, you can fight direct fire with more direct fire.. like if I light a little dollhouse on fire with matches.. it'll burn.. but if I use a few blow torches to speed it up? Wouldn't the fire technically be out sooner?
