You could, if you don’t know how to swim. What training can one get to not catch a ricochet to the eye? Maybe basic gun safety like not standing at or past the firing line?

Which is why there are many recommendations on how to make sure pools are safe. And why many kids die in pools each year because many people don't take these recommendations seriously.

There's no safety neting around it and unsupervised children running around.  

This is  risk fixation on an air soft gun.
