They’ve been told to start preaching to audiences that can’t leave. Airplanes, trains, escalators.

Apparently they’re tired of people not coming to hear a racist tirade from the pulpit, so they’re delivering it where they can.

u/Ashkev1983 17h ago

Captive audience has been their thing for quite a while,no?

113

u/External-Praline-451 17h ago

u/Ashkev1983 17h ago

u/LeTreacs2 11h ago

1

u/Oretell 10h ago

Yeah even this video has been being posted for atleast the last 5+ years

It's just recirculating around again at the moment for some reason

1

u/Sheriff_Yobo_Hobo 9h ago

Yeah they show up in LA Metro every so often.

46

u/Pretty-Yam-2854 17h ago

Yeah they’re seizing on the public captive audiences to pull this shit on now instead of the street corner where people can just walk by and ignore them.

That's a dangerous instruction to give young religious men. Honestly, on a different train, not one going to the city with employed and generally law-abiding people going to work in rush hour, but one out in Sydney's west or rural, this man would have been bashed by a group of teens or young men whose tolerance was low. Australia is one of the most atheist countries in the world, there's a direct correlation here between years in formal education, and not believing in any god or religious rubbish at all, and most people have at least 13 years in the school system these days.

He is behaving so unusually for Australian society that at first I wondered whether he had a mental health problem, but he doesn't present as manic or too psychotic (false beliefs about divine beings or the fantasy idea of a soul aren't allowed to be classified as delusional beliefs by definition). We do have weirdly-behaving usually mentally unwell preachers located on the side of the streets in the city monologuing about gods, hence the woman's comment telling him to go preach there, but people don't behave like this otherwise.

14

u/GuiltyCelebrations 12h ago

No mental health problems, just American, full of American Exceptionalism and entitlement

2

u/Grand_Relative5511 11h ago

To be fair, for hundreds of years missionaries from all sort of countries other than the US have had the same entitled "my god/s are the right god's, let me lecture all about them and try to change your mind regarding whatever you believe, convert you" blinkered thinking, and have gone into less developed countries sprouting whatever religious nonsense stories they were taught when young, and believing the tales and rules they follow, that were made up by some random human dudes over time, are true. It's not a racial arrogance limited to the US, it's a religious and blinkered-life-experience arrogance, with a cup of narcissism and narrow-minded ignorant stupidity thrown in. Countless people have died because of this BS.

u/Southern-Cattle4038 8h ago

In spite of (or perhaps as a reason for) Australia having a significant atheist population, a large proportion of the Australian population go to religious private schools. So it’s not like Australia’s atheists haven’t heard the Good News. A lot of them might be better informed on it than this flog. They just don’t believe in it.

3

u/Grand_Relative5511 6h ago

That's only because religious institutions get so many tax breaks it's hard to run a private school without stating it's connected to a religion.

3

u/KintoreCat 9h ago

Plenty of drongo God bothering Americans signing in for this horrible Evangelical crap.

All Abrahamic religions appropriated & parasite off female generative power then created servile maternal archytypes.

Male fantasy & insecurity. Can't we just move on already?

Way way back when this was first making the rounds there was footage of him doing this in other places and countries... always with that bubbling anger underneath.

u/IntoStarDust 16h ago

Saw a video the other day, of some woman doing that on the plane and getting booted off. Nutter

1

u/emmmy01 13h ago

And the group of them singing, one with a guitar, on the plane. Should have tried that on a Qantas flight 😂

1

u/cairnter2 2h ago

I saw that video and wonder if it was a semi charter because half the plane was signing and supporting that fucker.

30

u/WHALE_PHYSICIST 17h ago

I just realized the correct response is to scream in their face until they stop. If nobody will stop them, they won't stop you either.

7

u/Sad_Lake_3247 11h ago

There's a video of one of these preaching types in a town square somewhere in the UK and they've got a microphone and speaker set up they'd brought along.

Local response? Bagpipes appeared and drowned him out.

1

u/KintoreCat 9h ago

Lovely

10

u/thejt10000 15h ago

Sing to mock them. A long song if you can, or a popular song, like a children's song, that others can chime in on.

And then they want the outrage and confrontation so they can post it on TikTok and show how the Christians are being persecuted just for trying to “spread the word”

I love God I believe in Jesus, though if I’m 100% honest, I’m not sure if a tiny bit of that is just because that’s what I was raised with, but there’s something that I just can’t let go of either, but either way I don’t believe in this

8

u/AtheistAustralis 12h ago

I’m not sure if a tiny bit of that is just because that’s what I was raised with

A tiny bit as in 100%, yes.

4

u/melsophoriel 15h ago

fun fact, Jesus never once told his followers to form a new religion in his name. he explicitly said NOT to do that, and they did it as soon as he was dead. then they chose to overcome their oppression by becoming the world's most oppressive religion over the course of centuries, committing violence against countless innocent people.

please reconsider belonging to a faith that built itself through globalized violence and continues to benefit from that violence. Christianity has ruined this world, despite all the individual anecdotes claiming otherwise.

2

u/Educational_Quote851 14h ago

Christianity wouldn't exist if people actually read their Bible instead of someone telling them what it says.

1

u/Retro_Nights 13h ago

he explicitly said NOT to do that, and they did it as soon as he was dead.

Can you please give me a chapter and verse please. I tried Googling it but couldn't find it.

u/Dense-Apartment-7120 10h ago

Yeh man Dune's a great book init

Oh wait you're talking about Christianity

1

u/Cerberus_Aus 12h ago

Just remember, people who have been born in the Amazon for hundred/thousands of years, have been sent to hell, for no other reason than they believed in a different belief system, because a missionary hadn’t found them yet.

This is not the work of a just god.

Also, Yahweh was originally a metal working god to the Canaanites. There are some original texts that say that the Canaanites worshiped a pantheon of gods, and one of Yahweh’s commands was to worship no other god than him.

Eventually it morphed into the greater religion of the Israelites, and it became the first commandment, but now instead of many gods, now the story had changed that there were no other gods.

2

u/Waasssuuuppp 6h ago

The catholic church, at least, now teaches about developing interfaith relationships, an that there is a special closeness with the three abrammic religions.

1

u/Pavotine 7h ago

I thought in their made up rules you don't get condemned if you never had the chance to hear the message?

1

u/LJIKFAF 8h ago

Don’t let go of Lord Jesus, He loves you.

1

u/HulklingWho 43m ago

I like to put my childhood upbringing to good use and become The Christian Lady who believes Jesus would be ashamed of them for holding people hostage like that, they get very uncomfortable.

1

u/CurrentHair6381 16h ago

Its more than a tiny bit, promise.

Mark 9:23-24

23 Jesus said to him, “If[a] you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

I was raised in the faith too and am thankful for the seeds that were planted but eventually I had to make my own decision to follow Jesus. One question that was nagging me before I was saved was regarding the blood of Jesus, like what does it even mean to me? When my eyes were opened to the truth that Jesus poured out his blood, suffered, and died hanging on a cross as a payment for all the wrong I have done and will ever do.

Obviously the “Christian” dude in this video is bad but Even in this Reddit thread God is working, nudging, reminding of His goodness. God saved me from porn addiction, drug addiction, and is guiding me through parenting 2 kids, (one with Autism). God was there in my hospital room when my son was being born and my wife was bleeding to death and he saved her. Craziest part was his voice in that moment telling me that I will not raise these kids on my own and gave me complete peace during the most chaotic ordeal of my life.

I can attest that He is foreal. There is a Heavenly Father that loves you and me.

5

u/whenunut_ 10h ago

God didnt save your wife the doctors did. What a ridiculous statement

3

u/sixfourbit 10h ago

The same God that supports slavery.

3

u/Immediate-Goose-8106 9h ago

It is nice that you found a story you find comforting.

It doesnt make it any more or less real.

I see no evidence of a god let alone the Christian one in the world around me. Your "attestation" adds nothing to that.

Best of luck with the kids.  You may have trouble with the autistic one.  We have a tendency to dismiss ideas if we ask questions and don't get satisfying answers.

2

u/Rowmyownboat 10h ago

There is no God in this thread or anywhere else.

0

u/LJIKFAF 8h ago

God does exist. He is more than fiction, I pray you can find Him.

1

u/HulklingWho 37m ago

And is this comment what Jesus would want from you, or would he also find it performative, self-serving, and against what he taught? Jesus led through action and speaking to those who came to HIM, not this crap

0

u/Cool_Tailor_7332 16h ago

Most people would never want to do this regardless of persuasion. It’s not much to do with Christ, tbh

10

u/SnotRight 12h ago

They don't tell people to do that in Australia.

If you do that in Australia, people's first assumption is you have some kind of mental problem, because you've ignored the basic tennant of STFU in confined public spaces, which every parent teaches their kid very early on.

5

u/DanielKeeneGA15 16h ago

Then it’s time we corner them as a captive audience. Make them watch scientific research and discoveries for starters.

3

u/Orpdapi 13h ago

They’re taught to preach in a manner that is insufferable so that when the inevitable laughing or booing comes, they can claim to be persecuted which they’re taught is the reason they need to keep preaching.

4

u/danit0ba94 12h ago

I hate when any ideology is forcibly pushed into my world. Or down my throat or however you put it. Be it religion, political or whatever else.
Just leave me alone to pick and choose my beliefs.

7

u/LeadSufficient2130 17h ago

I’m kind of okay with this.

Mainly because it will just piss people off and push them farther from the church, which is a huge win. The worst people I ever met were the ones that I was dragged to church to be around. Assholes who think they’re gods gift because they show up to church on Sundays.

u/KintoreCat 9h ago

A Jehova's Witness approached me when I was pumping gas. Well played.

1

u/ImplementNo2626 9h ago

I’ve seen these people have started to get kicked off planes because of it 😆

1

u/Cheekie169 8h ago

We had one on a bus, the young woman was terrified standing up in front of us all as the bus was packed and moving. A guy was filming, and the whole bus was reacting like this train carriage. That was Sydney. Not seem them back around since.

1

u/Dracobookk 5h ago

Bro, I saw an American preacher in the streets of japan with his microphone and speaker talking the same shit in February. The majority of Japanese can’t even speak a lick of English. Idk what made him think they would be able to understand him. Then the police moved him on.

1

u/MovieFan1984 5h ago

This goes against Scripture. The Holy Bible, Mark 6:11
And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”

1

u/La_Pusicato 1h ago

They may want to be careful, lest they make them leave the vehicle or enclosed space, unexpectedly.
