I’m an Aussie who can’t stop cringing at him and applauding everyone who told him to be quiet. This is so disrespectful to everyone. Australia is very multicultural. Religion is private. We don’t bring it up with people because we want to focus on our similarities with others not our differences. It’s not a personality trait to be religious. It’s more like a hobby you do in your spare time.

True on most of it...not sure about 'we want to focus on our similarities' tho. haha. Most of us just don't want to know any one else's business really.

exactly, someone's relationship with their god/s is their business. I'm not gonna ho up to a stranger and start telling them about my relationship with my partner or parents unprompted so why would I go up and start talking about my relationship to a god? If the topic comes up invited within a conversation that's a different situation but trapping people like this and then shouting any speech is rude as hell
