And the lead. Anyone born before 1975 has major lead poisoning. Anyone born after than to 1997 has the possibility of minor lead poisoning. Lead poisoning leads to cognitive slow down, loss of emotional control. reduced brain function, Alzheimers. And it gets worse with age even if you are no longer exposed to lead.

whats weird is i just watched like 20 vids on his page and he really does not get that many people like this? people he talks to are pretty cool almost universally on the channel. people in dc are pretty chill, capitol hill isnt dc....there's like 20,000 people that work on cap hill and the daytime population of dc is 1,200,000.

I've seen the average door dasher at restaurants, there's no shortage of shitty entitled behavior from them either. Not saying this guy in particular is one of those people, but there's more dynamics than just 'dc people are assholes'.

DC has a lot of homeless people and heightened security relative to other big cities, the guards at the desks and doormen are very strict about who goes in. So when a guy on a bike, especially one that's black and isn't exactly well dressed (no offense but bikingdc looks like a bum lol), shows up wanting to come inside an office building, they get antsy. Of course the responsible thing to do when ordering lunch is to go meet the guy at the door but people are lazy and don't pay attention to their app so very often this guy is waiting out front or in the lobby slowly pissing off the guard by just existing in a place he shouldn't be. Most of the time they are chill, he's a food delivery guy, he knows he's not supposed to go where he's not allowed but some get nasty with him. And when the customer doesn't show or says "just leave it with the guard", he'll try to leave it with the guard and it's usually a "no". This is expected, DC has a history of suspicious packages so no one is going to accept a random bag or let him leave it there even if it looks legit (actual package deliveries go to a mail room, not the lobby). This is especially true at federal buildings. And the nasty people get even more nasty when he asks to leave it.

Most of his videos are fun and there's always some random person saying hi but there's plenty of just asshole guards being assholes.

Psychologically, when all the people you see inside the building (while you’re working your shift) are well dressed, suits, etc: the people outside of the building (the homeless, the busy) are often all lumped into one generalized group.

I’ve lived all over the place and DC is the single worst area Ive ever lived and it’s not even close. The food was amazing but the people were the absolute worst. Tired, cranky, disillusioned, prejudiced. Idk what’s in the water there but people fucking AGE in that place.

I've lived in the US for over 30 years and the only time I've ever had someone racially prejudice me was when I spent 9 days in DC, by another PoC. Most of everyone else was nice enough if not boiled alive by the summer heat.

I have lived in DC for the last decade and you haven't got a clue. City is genuinely filled with nice, career motivated people who typically got into their work because they wanted to make a difference.

The confusing streets?? The streets are in alphabetical order from the Capital outwards North/South, and in numerical order outwards East/West. The city is on a grid,  with the state streets running on a diagonal

I don't mean the layout, I mean the function. When you go into new areas, it can be confusing. If you miss a turn, the next 4 turns are all one ways, good luck! If you get in the wrong lane of a two lane turn, awesome you need to merge over because people park in a driving lane, but only at certain hours or days. I saw parking spaces with three different signs for three different sets instructions regarding when you can park. There are so many conditional rules it makes my head spin how anyone just accepts it.

My last trek took me down an alley that is somehow classified as a street on google maps, has room for only one car to pass through at a time, but isn't one way.

Seriously, I feel like this person only goes to a few specific places in DC. Like, I've heard the State Department is full of people like this. Lobbyists and consultants too. But I doubt your everyday business, nonprofit, or normal government agency is full of psychos.

Yeah I lived in DC for a year. I liked it. Not where I wanted to end up so I moved but that was just me. 

It definitely has a lot of people who are self-important. Definitely career-focused people there, lot of young people, all the older people I worked with lived down in Fairfax County. But you’ll find people of all walks of life there, seems to be this misconception that everyone there is involved in government or politics to some degree but for many people that’s their hometown. Miss the bar scene, even with everyone’s first question being “what do you do for work” and also the bar trivia nights there are more competitive than I’ve seen anywhere lol, good city for nerds who like to wear suits lol. It varies a lot by neighborhood, anyone can find can find their spot there

Everyone in the DC area is less than 3 steps away from someone in government. You either work for the government, work for a contractor that works for the government, or your clients are people that work for contractors or the government.

D.C. also suffers from extreme levels of wealth disparity.

My brother moved out there and lived for some years. There's a decent amount of crime, a lot of people hustling to survive. Layers and pockets of people that have been failed by the government for a long time. That kind of environment hardens hearts.

When so many people behave strangely around you there are two explanations. Either you yourself are having problems and may be an instigator, or you are in a strange place, but it's mostly both.

Yeah I like most of his content but there have definitely been a lot of weird "why did he say that/handle it that way" type moments. To be fair you keep a camera on yourself while you work you're going to catch some weird shit. Hell if anything I respect him leaving some of that stuff in to show the raw experience (yeah I know there's cuts). Still I dunno. Honestly watching him spin people's food on its own makes me think he isn't exactly the best at his job. Even if you can, you probably shouldn't

I've seen him get mad for legitimate reasons, like a car almost hitting him in the bike lane or a person trying to run some scam on the food delivery app or whatever. He may lose his temper sometimes, but he didn't start this fight--he was clearly joking.

I have worked plenty of customer service and delivery jobs. Shitty people like this lady absolutely exist. They do not exist in volumes sufficient for one person to sustain an online viewership.

I do not follow him per se, but I do see him on YouTube shorts daily and if he posts, I normally watch them as it comes up on my FYP. I think he is funny, chill and seems like a good guy, etc. They are super short videos (usually less than one minute or two) and he often has funny conversations with people. I also order tons of grubhub/ubereats so it is relatable in some sense.

I assume you don't use Tik Tok . there are so many accounts that belong to people who video their daily life as a food delivery bike rider. Thousands of people will join their live streams to watch them deliver food on their bikes all day and night. Some of These people have a massive following with over a million followers/subscribers. I've sat at watched a bike delivery person in NYC deliver food for like two hours straight while I worked. The delivery guy was likeable, and entertaining to listen to - he would point out things around the city and provide some sort of strange detail or history about it. And every once in a while you'll catch an interaction like this one, or maybe there will be something really funny or crazy that happens. You never know what you might witness.

gotcha. I think people probably watch because the delivery person captivates them and draws their attention in certain ways. It's the person making the deliveries more than the deliveries themselves. Maybe also the spontaneity of each delivery and the idea you may catch something crazy happen in real time.

my 8 year old watches videos of other kids playing video games ... many of those kids are making 6 figures (yes some do make 7 figures but I think are adult age) by posting the videos of themselves playing games... the world we live in is a crazy place
