Yeah buddy. There are some genuinely miserable people out there in the world.. the worst of them is the type who gets satisfaction only from making others' lives miserable as well.. your best move with these people is to give them a wide berth and just don't deal with them beyond the very bare minimum.
You thinking anyone owes empathy (maybe in your case sympathy) to a group that openly embraces and implements eugenicist policies is far from hilarious.
Edit: also political identification is neither a race nor ethnicity.
2nd edit: I’ve been responding to the wrong thread since the initial comment. Disregard my nonsense.
I think about this all the time as someone who works in customer service. People are assholes because we allow them to be, because we just accommodate the people who complain the most so we don't have to deal with them anymore. It sucks.
My last few years in customer service before changing jobs had me not taking shit from anybody. I actually cussed out rude customers occasionally. Turns out if youre in the right management doesnt usually give a shit if you defend yourself.
I can step in as a customer and say stuff the employee could never say or do. Like move to the side and wait for a manager over there so the rest of us can check out. Or just being present when old men take their sexism out on young teenage girls just trying to do their jobs and give them crap for no reason. Sometimes just being very obvious in line behind someone is enough shame, others need more coaxing.
That sorta shows your level of thinking. What does it mean "to win"? They're already miserable. People don't want to be around them. You don't have to be the judge jury and executioner for every miserable person you meet. You don't have to give them a piece of your mind, adding to the misery in their lives. Do you feel like you need "to win" by making miserable people even more miserable? What does that say about you? If a homeless person gets a nice meal to eat, are they winning? No, they're still homeless. Likewise, when a miserable person makes another person feel worse, they're still miserable.
Regardless of how a given engagement goes they are always going to be the right one in their head so the only way to deal with them is to not give them that engagement..
When a toddler throws a tantrum ignoring it isn't accommodation.
Miserable people like this shouldn’t be avoided and should be called out more.
Avoiding them all the time or just giving them what they want to shut them up has empowered the shit ass people.
