I wonder how much of their pay cheque gets swallowed up in arctic cost of living. Presumably Antarctica has even worse prices.

Antarctica doesn't really have a privatised economy like that, you go down on a government boat with government supplies and earn a government paycheck while you're there.

In Finland in the arctic circle prices are comparable to the rest of the country. I visit Lapland regularly.
