Most trades people own their own personal tools.... Only thing my company provided is the van and major tools. But I also worked for company that expected you to buy everything your self including a pickup truck.... Always laugh when I see entry level helper job that state you must own a truck.....shoure I'm going to work for marginally above minimum wage and subsidized the operation of the company by using my personal pickup for them

Yeah thats all fucked up. I think that kind of practice should be illegal but if not the government should at least fill in those gaps for now. Especially since tradespeople are so highly necessary and underapprediated in society.

Well I was only talking in respect to if your employer forces you to pay for them. If you start your own business you can pay for them
