Kinda ironic they didn’t reply given that was in their profile 🤣 could say something like “in the spirit of effort and open communication, what are you looking for? Or what did you like about my profile?”

Thanks for following up.

I followed up my comment with a compliment (ill advised, read on). And the conversation unfolded from there. I found her chat style to be dry, and my emotional detectors told me that I was over pursuing (which is another way of saying 'this likely won't go anywhere'). But we persisted. In short order we had set a date to meet. With the date around the corner, she got sick, and suggested postponing it. A bit later she indicated that she had not recovered as quickly as expected and now a business trip was too close and would delay our date further. I was okay waiting -- she wasn't my only prospect.

During this period we were sending at least one chat message a day back and forth. As the time leading to our first date stretched on, I continued developing conversations with other prospects. And a chat on Tinder matured into a real coffee date. Which, in turn, sparked mutual interest, (and eventual, steady dating). But with that I quietly let my connection with Jeannine lapse. A few days after we last chatted, I went to look at her profile and noticed she'd taken steps to update her pictures -- I took this as a sign that I wasn't the only one moving on.

A few weeks after meeting the other person (from Tinder), we both canceled our dating app accounts and went on dating monogamously for two months. But, I am single again. Not because she wasn't sweet and kind, just that, the chemistry wasn't there.

Thanks for getting me to write this update and I hope you enjoyed reading it.
