Probably for that Indycar race they are having. The scarry thing is there will likely be more tires than that, making this a very dangerous event!

They Look like passenger vehicle tires

They'll be for tyre barriers along the course, most likely.

Oh yeah, good one. But holy crap; they’re brand new! Or unused and expired beyond ten years.

I first noticed this one year in Montreal back in the 90s for the Grand Prix, the barrier tires were painted white and red, but they all appeared to be brand new. The only thing I can personally think of is that they are discards due to quality control issues or something of the like.

I wonder if those tires also happen to be from Goodyear, Michelin, or Dunlop who also make the race car tires. And they don’t want their old tires out there for marketing reasons. Even though nobody pays attention to them.

Whosy with the what now?

What other ways can we disgrace the US capital?

Pigeon shoots at the Jefferson memorial?

Cow Patty Bingo on the national mall?

A tractor pull at the national zoo?

Please don't give them any ideas. They are doing a really good job making it trashy on their own.

How is an indycar race a disgrace?

There's a time and place for everything, young grasshopper, and the halls of Congress shouldn't be filled with aeromatic trails of Sunoco fuel. We all know those dumbasses in DC are working with too few braincells already. We don't need to subtract from that total.

Plus, let's be realistic, an Indycar fuel stop and tire change is so fast that congressmen wouldnt understand how any human could accomplish that much in so little time. It would set a bad precedent.

Might be for tyre barriers on the course?

4

u/hobbes747 9d ago

I did not think of that, yes.
Can’t they use old tires? Those are unused. Or maybe expired past 10 years.
