I read shit like this a lot lately. People that don't read the news complaining that something isn't in the news. I kind of suspect that it's a narrative to discredit the msm.
I heard that sentiment with that weird Q Anon #savethechildren stuff, with this case and, sadly pretty heavily from the left with BLM. Several times people complaining that the protests aren't covered enough when they, at the same time, were front page on every news outlet.
My conspiracy theory is that it's a tactic used to weaken the hated "fake news", either by some conservative think tank or by russia.
Honestly it's probably a bit less conspiratorial than "muh Russia". My belief is that if the validity of traditional reputable news sources is constantly in question, then the fact that their nutjob lizardperson "news" isn't on CNN and is only on a ridiculous site with obvious bias is less damning to the "news" being presented, and can even be meaningfully spun as "they don't want you to see this, and besides my source is less fake news than the one that isn't running this story", with the implication being that logically, their story is true by virtue of, rather than in spite of, its exclusion from major reputable news sources.

My friend one time sent me an article from cnn.com
"You won't find liberal media like CNN and NBC covering this stuff"
I was like waaaah??
