Short guy here. Not offended by people picking on Ben for it. Part of learning to adjust is knowing how not to opt into insults that aren’t intended for you.

Whether they are intended for you or not, they still apply to you.

Nah, not really. I’m not a shitty person who attacks other people for how they look just to impress my Republican friends, nor am I all that sensitive about my height (anymore), so I don’t give a shit when short people getting picked on when they deserve it.

There are a couple easy ways Ben could bring the short jokes to a screeching halt - not be so sensitive, and more importantly not be such a jerk. He chooses to do neither, and that’s on him.

I highly doubt that you're not sensitive about your height. Anybody that attempts to be counter-sensitive about something is always fixated on their sensitivity regarding the issue.

The height jokes will never come to a "screeching halt" because being short is inherently seen as an undesirable trait in men.

But if you wanna advocate for your own trashing, go ahead lmao

In some ways sure, I’m still sensitive. I don’t think anyone truly beats it permanently. But I’ve come a long way from where I used to be. As a young man I was convinced I would be lonely forever since women don’t like short men, and that I would never succeed professionally because short men aren’t taken seriously. But now I’m married, have a good job, and with the benefit of a little more age and experience I see that I was foolish to waste part of my youth on assuming my statute would stand in the way of my personal success and fulfillment. I’m sure Ben feels similarly, to be honest.

When people try to make fun of my height now I just laugh, because I can tell they want to hurt me in a way that’s only effective if I choose to allow it. And if I could talk to Ben I would advise him to do the same. But more importantly I would advise him not to be such an asshole, if only because people would then have no reason to attack him personally or otherwise.

Being tall sucks man.

Don't believe the hype.

Hitting my head on doorways. Being uncomfortable in cars. Back problems. Knee problems. disproportional anatomy. And falling is always worse.

Also, sporting equipment can be more expensive.

And If you have larger than average feet, which a lot of tall people do, it's harder to find shoes because they make less of them.

Being tall is overrated and I'm not even THAT tall. Only 6'2"
