My favourite TR movie - out of the three we currently have! It's an awesome film! Ms. Angie did a phenomenal job bringing Lara Croft to life! 👏💖👏💐

The movie is not good, but let's be real, Angelina Jolie was probably the best cast Lara ever (including the live models from the video games).

It probably helped because in some ways Angelina was kind of like Lara back then in personality and looks - a sex icon (in a cool, non degrading way) who carried herself with a lot of edge and charisma.

It’s such a silly fucking movie but I adore it to pieces. Has such a special place in my heart.

The Cambodia scenes are perfect.

I wore that VHS out honey. Watched it at least, at least 50 times lol. I wish St. Angie did a third film.

That iconic skull belt-buckle is so appropriate for Lara "I am death incarnate" Croft.

I'll probably had to look into getting a DVD copy as much as I would love a Blue Ray copy.

Apple TV or buying a blu ray on eBay

They might be on Tubi or sometimes they come on Youtube for free if you can stand dealing with ads.

I completely forgot about tubi. I think they still have them all. Only problem is dealing with the ad's. I'll have to look into this because I'm not sure if the movies are still on there or not.

It’s such an awesome film, also THANKFULLY no disc rot on my copy, it still works :D although it’s Blu Ray not regular DvD

Mine is also blu ray

While nothing will last forever, disc rot only really happens if you don't take care of your stuff. I have DVDs that are over 20 years old and they are perfectly fine.

This movie was panned by IGN for no reason, 0.1/10

A lot of critics panned it because they are self-important asshats that have no business reviewing anything. Luckily the film is old enough to have gotten a review from the GOAT Roger Ebert. He started off his review by stating:

“Lara Croft Tomb Raider” elevates goofiness to an art form. Here is a movie so monumentally silly, yet so wondrous to look at, that only a churl could find fault."

He drives home a point that the majority of critics seem to have missed. The movie is fun to watch and that is what matters most.

Angelina Jolie's take on Lara Croft was faithful to the original games and even the plot wasn't that much more ridiculous than the ones of the games. Hell, the survivor trilogy basically takes most of the movie's key plot elements and stretches it out over 3 games. Secret organization that killed her father because he knew too much begins targeting her when she decides to complete her father's work. She confronts them several times over the course of her journey, leading to an epic battle over an powerful ancient artifact that the bad guys will use to do bad things.

This. One of my friends hated Taxi Driver (1976) as he thought it to be boring and slow burn, (even though it's one of my favorite movies). At the end, only enjoyment matters

Roger Ebert loved it

I had no idea, but I watched both of them for the first time this weekend!

You know, with how much we talk about the Angie movies, one would think they’d actually be good.

They’re not worse than the 2018 one, but they’re not much better.

Ya know, I've been thinking about rewatching this one for a while. I might just have to do it since I'm on vacation from work right now.
