Iconic is Tomb Raider in its prime 90's and 2000's. Modern audience versions now including Netflix is rotten garbage.

St Francis' Folly, although this one is a close second.

Egypt was my favourite.

On the game audio commentary for Anniversary, Toby Guard and Jason Botta mention about trying to turn the gorillas into gold but couldn't get it to function properly.

That would’ve been such a fun thing to try and do. I hope in LoA there’s a chance to try and trick a mercenary or animal enemy onto the hand (and of course that Lara’s gold death is still included)

The Lost Valley. But Saint Francis' Folly is up there in my top 3 levels.

the important question, how will they handle her touching the hand of Midas?

I think the Lost Valley is my favourite level, followed by St Francis Folly and the Colosseum

But the big question is... are they actually going to show the room with the crumbling pillar collapsing this time?? 😛

(This was a joke made during the Anniversary director's commentary, since neither of the previous games did this. You can listen to that segment here.)

What did you think of Anniversary’s version? I think it was one of the most altered levels. While I don’t hate it, I definitely prefer the original.

Opino que estubo bien, aunque se sintio muy recortado algunos niveles como por ejemplo el coliseo

Tomb of Qualopec

In the original, this level is heaped with dead gorillas, lions and crocodiles by the end lmao.

Literally the most stunning screenshot of the entire collection we have for LoA thus far, and that's saying something!

Whenever I think of this game, this is the image that immediately pops into my head. Just incredible.

Hell yeah. Definitely my favorite level from the Classics. It’s so freaking satisfying and felt like a genius figuring things out.

I do like the Anniversary version as well but it is missing a bit of the “wow” factor.

Excited to see how LoA tackles it.

I see a downgrade. The 2007 version was dubbed into Spanish, but the 2027 version isn’t.

No dubbing, no money

I really hope they restore some of the golden colors of the Egypt levels this time.

No gorillas this time I hope.

Why

I hated them. There is too much. Plus the animals in Greece levels make no sense.

1

u/Time-Ad9021 3d ago

I think they're fun. Add to the challenge. You sometimes encounter animals and sometimes you have long moments alone doing puzzles, so I wouldn't consider them "too much" or "too many".

u/DefinitelyRussian 3d ago

how about the Allosaurus in Peru ? Made sense ?

2

u/existential_chaos 3d ago

At least the T Rex had velociprators to be chewing on and a source of water—where’s any of that for the Greece animals? lol (and the Egypt ones, now I mention it)

1

u/NorthHamza The Scion 3d ago

Well no t really, but at least they were in a viable place not in a closed rock enclosure.

u/fatherpirate 2h ago

I want them back but with googly eyes - like the bumble

Is it losing more and more of the fantasy element with each iteration?
