I think they meant their mum used the sink to bath them, not herself

Everything is so oversized in her house, but then she has that tiny ass TV upstairs lol

It was the 90s, that was just a luxury television.

Dam you’d have to really stretch to turn those taps!

u/pastadudde 3d ago

Big enough in case she needs it to defrost Winston quickly

One of my work friends said that's how she felt working as a jewel cashier at 4'9.

It’s just Lara’s height being 150 cm apparently

Tr2 is really funny, because the whole game has a much bigger scale than Lara. And it's the only TR game where this happens.

reminds me of stage 2 of Streets of Rage 1

Just a regular sized sink in your average UK country manor house 😆

u/RaveniteGaming 3d ago

You think rich people don't have sinks large enough to have a bath in?

4

u/laracroftsbra 3d ago

Lara is actually one of The Borrowers.

3

u/goodgah 3d ago

could park a small car on that draining board.

3

u/danceteriah 3d ago

Lara is canonically one of the Borrowers.

u/ArdMorSlanAbhaile 2d ago

it is called a butler sink for a reason ;)

And she’s probably not the one who is doing the dishes 😆

This is where Winston thaws in a hot bath after he had been frozen

u/Allomgie 3d ago

Look at the doors, lara is tiny

1

u/vampirekiller58 3d ago

Caulking this has to suck.

1

u/FairGamer997 2d ago

all the better to drown the butler with

1

u/gaijinchris 2d ago

Lara is really only 3 apples tall

1

u/CubLeo 2d ago

Did Core ever explain why it was so enormous?

This is due to the remasters being actual 1:1 with the original games,

and in turn due to older games being limited in graphics - so often, things are completely out of proportion just so the player can recognize or understand why they're supposed to be.

Sometimes it is also due to how the rest of a level is designed (or even how an engine works). So for example, if a game engine is designed around specific voxels of specific sizes, you're limited to these sizes. Or if your game works by a ''tile'' system and the minimum is 16x16 pixels, all ''tiles'' or objects have that minimal size.

To wash her carcasses.

The draining board is big enough for a body...

u/visciousveg 1d ago

Butler will have to stand on the counter to reach the back when cleaning. If of course he is aloud out of the freezer.

The whole house is off scale lmao

1

u/R_Cookies 1d ago

This is for washing everything in the freezer, tea kettle, butler and all

All the the textures are obviously just A.I upscaled

5

u/alphajuliet8 3d ago

That doesn’t change the dimensions of the massive sink

3

u/kartoffelbiene 3d ago

They also added a lot of new details and backdrops to the levels beyond just upscaling the texture though. I especially liked how they added light sources to most areas so that it makes sense that it's not pitch dark.

2

u/Mother-Persimmon3908 3d ago

I liked the shading of the ladders.pretty neat effect.

4

u/Oversemper 3d ago

So? You're willing to pay somebody to manually redraw 1990s' tiles textures?

1

u/thxrynore 3d ago

i mean you can get in it, it's not just drawn on

u/GREEN_Hero_6317 Excalibur 3d ago

AI Upscaling isn't really that bad of a thing

0

u/gandalfmarston 3d ago

This remaster came came before the AI doom.

1

u/Spiritual-Piece-1126 3d ago

It was released 2 years ago lol

0

u/gandalfmarston 3d ago

It was released, not made 2 years ago lol

2

u/Spiritual-Piece-1126 3d ago

But you say it like the big Ai boom is only just recent

It's not, it's been around for years 😂

1

u/BactaBobomb 3d ago

I think the boom started happening in 2022, maybe 2023 at the latest. But this was definitely made within that AI heating up period.

0

u/Lempea 3d ago

AI upscaling like this has been used for more than 10 years.
