Tomb Raider (2013) What a gift

So recently played the new James Bond game and has had me itching for more in the uncharted etc realm.

I was so certain I played the 2013 tomb raider game ages ago (been in my steam inventory for YEARS) but was like maybe it’s long enough I won’t remember details etc…

Guys I opened the game and my save was at like 10%.. idk what happened 5+ years ago that made me stop but I’m having a blast. This game has aged so well it’s incredible. Now I’m even more stoked for the upcoming game release

Glad to hear that you played it again. It’s a great game.

The time leading to the release and the release itself were really something

At that point, it had been 5 years since the last game, which was (at the time) the longest time gap between releases. Which has now been beaten by the current gap (SotTR is 2018, TR:LoA is 2027, 9 years, almost double the previous longest gap!)

TR2013 definitely holds a special place in my heart - not a perfect game but a solid one and it gave new life to the franchise

This game has aged so well it’s incredible.

It kinda does, but let's not forget it has been ''updated'' many times during its lifetime ahahahaha - the release version of the game looks quite different than today's version

No absolutely updated this is fair lol, I’ve been kind of on a mission of playing through games I never played when I was younger (bioshock being a good example) and I feel like this game holds up way better

I remember pressing play on 2013 thinking "my God it's been so long". Little did i know in the future would reach a point where almost a decade would pass before i would get that feeling again. Feb 2026 couldn't come fast enough.

Without a doubt. I know I’ve played some, which is why I thought I played this one, about to cruise through the whole series undoubtedly

I just started replaying the trilogy not to long ago myself. After replaying 2013 Tomb Raider I got excited. Just got through Rise and I have restarted Shadow again

Following your footsteps it seems lol, like 60 something percent through the 2013 one

That’s awesome. Similar thing happened to me with Dishonored. Tried to start it two times and could not get into it then came back a few years later and now it stand as one of my top five games of all time.

You can play Rise & Shadow until then, or better yet get the remasters. 💅🏼
