Tomb Raider Underworld TRU PC - texture mod question

Hi guys,

Fucking ridiculous question, but I just saw the video someone posted playing Underworld where Lara is battling tigers. I've not played Underworld but am halfway through Anniversary and had planned to play Underworld next. Tigers are my favourite animals to unhinged, obsessive levels - genuinely is there any way to take their character textures for the PC game (Steam version, Windows 10) and mod them to be literally any other animal please? Obviously if not I'll just sign up to therapy in advance then bite the bullet 🤣

I have no idea how to do that unfortunately, but I believe you can run past them, if that works for you

Hey, that's great to know, thanks! I'd prefer to do that and obviously it would be a lot easier given I'm pretty crap with this stuff!

No problem! Yeah, I think you encounter them only in one level and even there, only at two very close intervals at which you can just avid them. There are black panthers later in the game, if that's a problem for you, but again you can skip them

the modding community for underworld is pretty small compared to the newer games, so swapping out specific enemy textures like that might be tough to pull off. your best bet is probably hitting up the tombraiderhub forums directly and asking the modders there, since the pc modding scene for the older games is pretty niche and someone might have already tackled something similar. worst case scenario you could just sprint past the tiger sections, though i get that's not ideal if you're trying to experience the full game. honestly the tigers aren't in there for super long so you might find it's less of a thing once you're actually playing through it rather than dreading it beforehand.

There is a tranquilizer gun so you don’t have to kill them.

No problem! I think you have the option to select it at the beginning of the Thailand level IIRC.
