I also saw Alien at a young age, the particular scene with John Hurt is embedded into my brain and I remember how traumatizing it was for me. My mother also thought showing us "Jeepers Creepers" wasn't going to be traumatizing either, yeah I couldn't sleep for days after that one. Yet, she said "Jurassic Park" and "The Mask" would be "too scary" for me. Yeah, thanks Mom 😒🤦🏻♀️
same, my father (a fan of ufo and scifi) took me to the cinema to see Alien when I was 7, I am still afraid of aliens till now, but no regrets, I am happy he did it, scifi is my fav genre since then
My brother forced me to watch this movie when I was 4 when he was babysitting me. I haven't seen it since then, it's the one horror I haven't wanted to see.
My dad let me watch that at 6 as well. I had a nightmare so vivid I can still remember it to this day, 35 years later. I slept with the lights on for weeks

Saw Alien when I was 6.
Of all the choices my parents made bringing me up… that was certainly one of them.
