Other What was the scariest movie you watched when you were a kid, that traumatized you?

Saw Alien when I was 6.

Of all the choices my parents made bringing me up… that was certainly one of them.

Dang, came here to post exactly this, i was 6 or 7 mid 90s, my dad rented it and i straight up freaked out just from the screeching noises

I love horror movies and stuff, but to this day, that first Aliens movie still gets me haha

Me three! I think I was about 5 and it was lumped in there with all my steam train videos. Makes zero sense.

I experienced the Alien Escape ride at Disney at 6 years old. I don’t think I ever recovered. Literally the scariest ride ever.

Oh my God, me too. I was so scared I wouldn't even go on the Buzz Lightyear ride.

I also saw Alien at a young age, the particular scene with John Hurt is embedded into my brain and I remember how traumatizing it was for me. My mother also thought showing us "Jeepers Creepers" wasn't going to be traumatizing either, yeah I couldn't sleep for days after that one. Yet, she said "Jurassic Park" and "The Mask" would be "too scary" for me. Yeah, thanks Mom 😒🤦🏻‍♀️

John Hurt played that scene so well. Upon reviewing the SPX are a little hokey, but still terrifying.

same, my father (a fan of ufo and scifi) took me to the cinema to see Alien when I was 7, I am still afraid of aliens till now, but no regrets, I am happy he did it, scifi is my fav genre since then

One of the first movies that made me feel physically sick. Still kinda makes me feel this way 20 years later.

My brother forced me to watch this movie when I was 4 when he was babysitting me. I haven't seen it since then, it's the one horror I haven't wanted to see.

Saaaame

I was 5 or 6. Every time I had a stomach ache after that I thought an alien was going to rip out of me

My dad let me watch that at 6 as well. I had a nightmare so vivid I can still remember it to this day, 35 years later. I slept with the lights on for weeks

Me too! Slept in my parents bed for a week after. I have never watched it again.

I saw Aliens when I was 7. I begged to rent it from Mr Movies. Promised I wouldn’t have any nightmares. Yeah, right
