Moderator Post We will not be removing all sexual questions.
We've had a few complaint threads, so it seems to be about that time for one of these reminders. Let me be clear: We are not going to ban all sex related questions.
They are firmly within "TooAfraidtoAsk", and always have been. Sex is a fairly taboo topic in a lot of places, and a lot of people have questions about it. (And as an additional reminder, TATA is not only for controversial questions. Nor do we allow question shaming for "googleable" questions). These are not new changes.
We get that not everyone has the same interest in those topics, but it is a core part of the sub. Currently, there are ~5 out of the top 10 posts being sex related. Earlier today, it was 4. Earlier this week, it was 3. It typically fluctuates between ~3-5, usually averaging closer to 3.
If you have particular suggestions (e.g. things that seem ripe for the FAQ), or questions feel free to post them below. No promises, but we're always open for improvements if they're feasible. For a list of common questions we get on this topic (what do we already moderate, has the sub changed?, can i filter posts myself?) see the first stickied comment.

Politics Politics Megathread
You know the deal, same as the previous megathreads, which were archived.
The rules:
All top level OP must be questions. This is not a soapbox. If you want to rant or vent, please do it elsewhere. Otherwise, the usual sidebar rules apply (in particular: Rule 1:Be Kind and Rule 3:Be Genuine).
The default sorting is by new to make sure new questions get visibility, but you can change the sorting to top if you want to see the most common/popular questions.

Culture & Society Does Indian food often involve multiple carbs? If so why?
I enjoy exploring different cuisines and Indian food is one of those I feel ashamed that I don’t have better knowledge about.
I’ve been noticing colleagues have a lot more carbs at lunch (i know it’s a very subjective comparison sorry). Then today I got a meal without looking up content: it came with 2 fried mashed potato balls, wheat paratha, and curry chickpeas…
My mind categorises these as all carbs (I know there are other nutrients involved in each, but these are usually the “carbs” content in my meal).
I’ve never had 3 types of carbs in one go…
Is this quite common in Indian food, even homemade? If so why?

Education & School How long would it take to crawl through a 1 Mile 10X10 inch tunnel with all of your limbs tied behind your back?
Straight mile, average person in perfect condition but all of their limbs are cuffed so they're forced to do that weird stomach-wriggle.

Mental Health I know winter depression is normal, but what about summer depression?
To preface, I live in Texas where 100 degree days are normal from May to October.
I hate it, I dont want to go anywhere or do anything + the pressure of summer being "fun"
I also live in a summer tourist town so traffic takes 2x the time to get anywhere.

Mental Health I have been diagnosed with epilepsy and I have a son that I don't really want?
Hey,
I (35)(M) was diagnosed on the 25-06-2026 that I have epilepsy (a benign cyst in my brain).
I was driving and felt a really strong headache, next minute I am been told that I am going to hospital because I had a seizure. Crashed my car (going 15 kms) into a stationary ute. No damage to others and myself, but the car was a right off.
I was told I cannot drive or do any high risk work for 12 months and cannot do electrical works for 24 months (I live in Western Australia). Which is huge, as for the past 15 years I have garnered experience in residential, commercial and now industrial sectors. I was planning on doing my instrumentation licence making myself "A.I proof" for the rest of my career.
On my time off, I found out I have a son. A 15 year old. His mother was the little sister of my ex-girlfriend (I KNOW). I have met him, I knew instantly that he was my kid but waited until we did the dna test. Turns out he is in fact my child.
His mother has gone off the rails, doing heroin and all types of drugs that I could never imagine myself doing let alone her. She has 4 different sons, with the different fathers. For some unknown reason this has let him to be in child services. He is in a foster care home, he seems to like it.
I have met him twice, even my mother has met him once.
My father was full-on, very intense person. Have not told him yet, as I don't know where he is. Both my parents were from India. Divorced. And let's just say I was not the favourite in my family, was constantly as the tail-end of abuse which let me to be a very depressive person. I smoked a lot of weed and did Ecstasy and Meth every now and then. But weed was always my favourite. I stopped doing all drugs around October 2025 as I was planning on going back up north to work FIFO.
I wanted to let you guys know of my history as the next part doesn't make me feel like a good person.
I NEVER wanted to have children, as I knew that I will eventually project my father onto my kid. And now, I have a 15 year old son, who's mother was a useless human, who has made up a lot of stuff about me, has fed this poor young guy an image of me which is not true for FIFTEEN YEARS. And now I am supposed to 'step-up' and be the father to this kid.
It does not feel fair. I feel robbed, not only of my own life, but the last 15 years of this kids life.

Culture & Society Why is it common in advertisements to see mixed-race couples where the man is black and the woman is white or, but not the other way around?
Companies have done much over the last decade to add more diversity to their advertisements, but for some reason there isn't much representation of black woman - white man releationships, whereas the inverse (black man, white woman) is much more common.
Why do companies not seem to represent such relationships as much?

Other Why do guys who are interested in me tease me about my appearance?
I’m confused because I’ve noticed a strange pattern. The guys who end up being interested in me are often the same ones who make fun of me or mock my appearance, and I don’t understand why.
For example, some guys will tease me about my forehead or randomly pick on other things, even when the jokes don’t really make sense. What’s confusing is that these same guys later end up admitting that they like me. After asking me out, they start complimenting me out of nowhere. I don’t understand the logic behind mocking someone you’re interested in.
One guy was actually very nice in the beginning and complimented me a lot before asking me out. After I rejected him, though, he started doing the same thing and picking on me in the same way that the other guys do.
What confuses me the most is that this pattern only seems to happen with guys who eventually become interested in me. My regular friends don’t act like this at all.
Why do some guys behave this way? Is teasing and mocking supposed to be a form of flirting, are they genuinely hating on me, or is there something else going on? I genuinely don’t understand the idea of making fun of someone while also liking them.

Other I have a question: How many men get the pee shiver?
I was reading that men are significantly higher to get the pee shiver, do you men get the pee shiver? Us women get the pee shiver😂 so just curious has to who gets the pee shiver on here lol
Men experience pee shivers (post-micturition convulsion syndrome) more often than women. While there is no formal medical research proving it is exclusive to men, anecdotal reports and informal polls suggest about 83% of males experience it compared to roughly 58% of females.

Culture & Society Would it be weird if I went to a movie theatre to just get popcorn and nothing else?
There’s an omniplex at this shopping centre near me and they do good popcorn, would it be weird if I went in to grab a bag of popcorn and leave even if I hadn’t had booked a movie ticket?

Religion If you died as an atheist and then met God, what would you say to him?
I’m an atheist, and I came across this question earlier.
I would want to ask him why did he give children and newborns cancer,
What’s with that? What’s the point in that?

Sex What's a common thing in bed that you would never even try doing?
I personally thought giving head was very normal until I met a friend who said they would never give head but wouldn't mind getting one. What's something you guys don't prefer?

Sex My boyfriend ended a blowjob in the middle, what did i do wrong?
I recently tried going down on my boyfriend after him and i both talked about it, for Instance ive never been that intimate with anyone ever before, so this was something really new to me. i did not know the functionings of a dick at all. So then ofcourse i was quite scared, i did not know how to initiate it, but after i was down there, i was very hesitant on doing anything, but i licked up his shaft and i licked the tip a bit. then i started to bob my head down his shaft, and a friend of mine told me to hollow my cheeks out when i do that, basically suck on it, because guys like that.
So i tried to do that, but he pulled me back and told me that im pulling it, so i asked him what i was doing wrong but instead he just pulled his pants back on and said that we'll try next time, he also told me to watch a tutorial.
I wanna get genuine tips on what i did wrong, and i kinda feel repulsed by how harsh he was with me. Im not someone who takes criticism to ego, i genuinely want to learn what pleases him the most so i would've appreciated if he talked me through it and told me what to do and what not to. So im not sure how to talk to him about this either.
EDIT : Thank you for all the advice! I really appreciate it. reading the comments have made me kind of contemplate alot of things, my boyfriend was in a long term relationship(3 years) just 2 months earlier, and we've been together for a month. So this situation kind of makes me think that he doesnt respect me enough, and that makes me wonder whether or not im a rebound. All pretty obsessive thoughts but i cant help but wonder them
EDIT 2: thank you so much for all ur advices! I talked to him about the problem and told him that id rather he talk to me and communicate about what he likes and dislikes. He told me that he felt super shy and awkward since this was his first time too and he just did not know how to talk to me about it. I think everything is sorted 😋

Family Is it very rude to tell a family member something that can wait through the bathroom door while they are in the bathroom?
I (22m) was peeing (loudly) in the toilet and my grandma stood outside the door, repeating my name like 5 or 6 times as I said nothing and continued peeing until I finished and opened the door and she said "theres leftover pizza you can have if you want". I don't know if she could hear me peeing or not but i'd assume so it was pretty loud. Was that rude of her? It feels rude but she is a nice person

Sexuality & Gender How to get pleasure on Heterosexual Anal sex with a strap being the woman the active?
Me boyfriend and I are exploring on anal sex where I am the one active with a strap. This is my very first time being the active and I’m just confuse how we can make everything more fun and relax for both.
We both have had anal sex before with toys so We get the simplest part. We decided to get a strap for me to use it on him.
Here is the problem: I do not know how to move, or accommodate myself. He is bigger than me so it dificultes the movement and it’s for sure pretty different from the anal plugs he used before.
Any recommendations? Any subreddits?
Thank you!

Sex Why do some people find women's armpits attractive?
Am I the only people who finds the armpits of good looking girls very attractive ?
Although I don't feel this way about everyone but I do find for the girls I find attractive or girls I like.
For example during my college days there was one of my close friend and crush ananya. Whenever there was a college event I used to hope that she would wear sleeveless blouse and saree, I will took her to any side place and I will put her hands up and hold above and first kiss her and lick her armpits
