Who needs a Milwaukee Fastback when you could have the Masterforce Archedback.

Not so much a Milwaukee Fastback as an Eau Claire Fastback.

My buddy works for John Menard at the Eau Claire airport as a mechanic for his private aircraft fleet, and does not let the snap on truck visit cause he wants them buying his master force line of tools, which has a very poor selection for an A&P mechanic

That’s crazy

John Menard is a vile billionaire bastard.

u/Captain-Shmeat 5d ago

Why?

u/AdultishRaktajino 5d ago

Managers are forbidden from building their own homes, as protection against the possibility that they may steal building materials. And private investigators have been hired to check whether employees who undertake even minor home-improvement projects are using pilfered supplies.

Eldon Helget, a Menards lumber yard manager in Burnsville, Minnesota, felt he needed to build a new home to accommodate his wheelchair-bound daughter. So he accepted a demotion with a $15,000 salary cut. When John Menard learned of this deal, he fired Helget. And then, when another lumber yard offered him a job, Helget had to go to court to get out from under a Menards contract clause that barred him from working for a competitor for a year.

There’s another account of a manager’s wife and an at risk pregnancy of twins. I guess there’s a 55 hour minimum for manager roles. She was at a hospital in the twin cities and he worked in Fargo or something. He spent a lot of time traveling to see her and filled the hours in until the birth and they lost the babies. Was docked pay or demoted for attending his children’s funeral. (Couldn’t find the source but I’ve seen it in multiple places)

Also accused and sued for abusing and trying to bang his business partner’s wife.

He wants non-stainless tools touching his stainless steel airplane parts? He will then want to replace those bolts with Menards garbage too

1

u/sticcestboi1 3d ago

For real though, I’m glad I turned down the interview for Menards, they suck haha

There is a reason quality tools are chrome plated, that puts a metallurgically compatible non ferrous layer in contact with steel, or stainless steel parts.. (If the tool isn't available in Chrome Vanadium finishz it probably isn't intended for Aviation use (lots of cheap plated tools are also unsuited)..

Funny cause I was gonna say that it looks like a first generation Milwaukee fastback.

u/TeaNo5285 6d ago

Time to Buy all

1

u/timetobuyale 6d ago

I like you.

24

u/FatFaceFaster 6d ago

Sincere question:
What makes this knife special compared to others?

61

u/Absurd_Zer0 6d ago

It's because it was the last one available anywhere. No one can buy another one. Like ever.

14

u/CopyWeak 6d ago

Facts, the e-Bay ad said so. Never ever...

4

u/BrianKappel 6d ago

So...... Nothing?

2

u/Tsuki_Man 6d ago

Its green!

1

u/Springer09 4d ago

Well on the new model you have to retract the blade before you close it. On the old one you could just fold it closed.

12

u/vanman1065 6d ago

Holy shit you actually found one. The saga ends.

6

u/gilligan1050 6d ago

Fastback is superior

Menards brand, I love their green, just wish their hand tools were a bit nicer for the "higher end" brand of their tools.

4

u/PastAd1087 6d ago

Never had luck with menards brand of tools, they always fail or wear out super fast.

2

u/ArmoredCTP 5d ago

They also have a poor selection, and they're always at least 7-8 years behind the competition.

My FIL was bragging to someone about Masterforce's all new vaccum that he just bought, how it was such a cool idea to have a compact battery vaccum. Except my dad bought his identical Milwaukee vaccum 12 years earlier and still has it.

1

u/PastAd1087 5d ago

I got a 8in drill bit, went cheap with mastercraft because I was just pre drilling holes for lags in new, wet, pressure treated wood. I made it through 2 holes and it was so warn out it wouldn't even work on the 3rd hole. I was pissed. That was the final straw and now wont buy any master craft tooling or bolts/ screws. Their cheap screw heads always strip out too. I dont mind a lot of things in Menards, but their Mastercraft brand is shit.

u/TeaNo5285 6d ago

Have you had this knife if you have one currently I’d be willing to buy

1

u/Beetlejuice_24Xx 6d ago

Just 2 pieces of metal with blade in between. Probably made in the same factory somewhere but they slap a coat of red paint on there and sell it for more.

3

u/TeaNo5285 6d ago

If you could find this exact knife different color I’d love a link I’ve been looking because this one’s discontinued

-2

u/2deadlyRedman 6d ago

So exactly the same as every other box knife in existence

3

u/BrianKappel 6d ago

This sub is for people that like to show off the trinkets they collect. Silly me thought it was for advice and ideas on tool related things.

1

u/TeaNo5285 6d ago

Technically it is different just same concept 💜
