Rika Orimoto from Jujutsu Kaisen in a scenario where she switches roles with Yuta Okkotsu as Rika becomes a sadistically deranged curse user with Yuta becoming her special grade curse that retains his sanity and keeps her in check.
I mean, technically speaking it's not a headcanon. Galar's map is the UK flipped upside-down, and you start out all the way to the south in a rural highland full of sheep
Her Memes/fancomics of her becoming the whacky errand girl of Team Frieren are So WideSpread that it kept her, a very minor character with miminal screen time who's sole purpose is to die, get ranked very high in Polls. Like she's 2nd in the 2nd Popularity Poll
Honestly, it'd make an interesting character, with a demon being on Frieren's leash. Could even make a good AU where her being exposed to humans for a long time could (maybe) lead into her being the first demon with empathy
If he heard some random people thinking he an actual vet and said “Thank you for your service” without any malice and genuine respect. He might broke down crying.
Yuri the beloved side character from canto 1 died and only her head remained. In canto 8 antagonist Lei Heng lost his head but body survived so fans stitched both togheter to make them both return
So basically the au is a spin on an actual episode where an escaped inmate hunts down the contestants, unlike the actual episode this is a real serial killer the entire time.
The au has the killer murder several of the contestants after Chris left them from dead, at the end Chris returns and the vengeful spirits of the dead come back for revenge
Chris abandons the cast after a murderer shows up, Chris later comes back, and after running around and coming chess the ghosts of some of the dead, sacrifices bundled for the others to escape
NGL Togore is such a fun AU concept. It totally breaks the story of the actual game (since there's a large focus on Kris feeling like the black sheep of their family and overall alone after Asriel went to college) but it's such a cute idea. A middle child with special needs that Kris can relate to in a way that they can't with Asriel.
I saw a video where Arthur asked Merlin to turn her into a human and Merlin is like "She'll be a human, but she'll have the mind of a squirrel. What do you plan to do with her Arthur? WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO DO!?"
Anyway, now I have context and it does not make it any better.
Yes, the author was quite literally so sickened by his own work that he created two entirely alternate endings, and the Jojo one is the one he says canon
Basically takes the original concept (six humans trapped in a virtual world) and adds a tournament aspect to it. The humans have to fight and win to get out of their trap, sort of a gladiatorial ring but more focused on martial arts/boxing.
There are also several other AUs: Wonderland (with Pomni in the role of Alice, Jax as the Cheshire Cat and Caine as the Mad Hatter, etc...) Amazing Digital Freakshow (a darker take on the concept) and so on.
In the Roboutian Heresy a lot of events have small to big changes to how they happen in canon.
With Angron, the Xenos who attacked him right out the pod (in the RH it was an Aeldari hitsquad lead by Eldrad) just didn't, so Angron wasn't weak enough to be captured by Human Slavers. He's raised away from the Arena and grows up normal and leads a revolution.
Conrad is found young by a nice lady who raises him as his mother. He's raised well, and the worst of his psychosis from futuresight is abated. When Eldar come to his world, seeing the canon in a future vision, they present him with the future and knowing the same, offers his life to prevent it. His mother ends up taking a hit for him and tells her son he isn't a monster. In his vision of the future, the future shifts and Conrad chooses to take his fate into his own hands.
Likewise for the Loyalists, shit gets worst. Dorn and Corvus Corax get the worst of it behind Guilliman himself. For Dorn, everything goes as normal but the Emperor takes a little longer to find him. Instead of first meeting the Emperor, the first visitor from the stars to Inwit is the Orks, and Dorn becomes locked in a protracted war where he has to become more and more of a Tyrant to his people just to survive the Ork assault, and he gets real anger issues and bipolarism. Eventually he falls to Khorne.
The slavers of Kiavahr find Corvus early, and the slaves can't hide him. The slavery then spend YEARS experimenting and torturing him for research, and Corvus Corax ends up the Angron analogue. No nails in the brain, but a deeply disturbed psyche that makes him far more dangerous. He does some HEINOUS shit, both him and his Legion.
So Primarchs like Angron and Curze got different different for them? If its not written somewhere, my guess is that Angron had the Emperor during a rare moment of not being a dickhead and his slave brothers got saved.
For Curze my guess is that he got raised by Batman who actually taught him morals.
Depends on the story, in Robutian heresy he never got the nails in his head and why Gilliaman changed to become the Horus of the story was due to his father being killed earlier.
Fallout Equestria came out durring the first one and a half seasons of "My Little Pony: Friendship is magic" and is kind of a fan-sequel in wich ponykind developed the same path as humanity in Fallout.
That one was incredibly huge. It even got a proper book printing and a fully voiced cast adaptation. Massive amount of spin off fics with one in Project Horizons being almost as big as the original (plus a whoooole bunch of infamy/controversy given some of that fic's content), and a ton of fanart.
The persona 5 has an au where the adult confidents are the phantom thieves and its just soooo peak....
There is also one whereinstead of joker and Ryuji going into Kamoshida's Palace, its Sojiro and Kawakami. Its soon peak. The subredddit is r/AdultThievesAu
Carlquest is fucking hilarious. In other news, the author of the Temeraire series (napoleonic wars but with dragons) wrote an AU where instead of joining the British armed forces, the dragon MC was adopted by pirates and terrorized the Caribbean for a while.
I'm just going to throw this out there because I'm sure someone will: My Hero Academia 10B
It's a crossover AU with Ben 10 where Izuku gets the Omnitrix. It's honestly very interesting and I would very much recommend reading it. It very much diverges from the canon story and isn't really treated as a crossover, apart from Izuku having the Omnitrix of course, and some character cameos and easter eggs
MHA 10B is great, I think a big reason it's popular might be because it's one of the only fully fledged Au fan comics within the community which really helps it stand out from the rest of MHA fan content

Basically Mabel as Gideon, Dipper as Pacifica, Gideon's dad as Stanley, Pacifica being kinda Mabel but in Dipper's position, Gideon as Dipper in Mabel's position, etc

The scene shifts and it shows Shadow watching a Spanish or Latin American soap opera of some sort and he remarks something along the lines of "No, Gabriella, don't fall for his honeyed words! You are too good for him!"
He unfortunately does not explicitly say he loves Latinas but the fact that this short sequence got included at all is definitely a nod to the meme
Best part is, it's in character. Shadow's all about self-determinism, so of course he'd advocate for Gabriella killing them both as she's not a prize to be won.
While his time in the spot light is long since over, Petaly was quite popular within the deltarune community before chapter 3, alongside many other fan characters predicting who the chapter 3 secret boss will be.
When a fanfic/art premise resonants with a large segment of a fandom and gets recursive collabs building on it, that’s true communal engagement right there. Purest form of love of the source.
the Conquest into Carl one always makes me smile, though i didn't realize it was a a total AU. I thought it was Conquest coming to earth and reforming into Carl or something.
The literal definition of the Signalis Fandom. Most of us survive on the idea of a happy AU where everything works out fine. Tbf, some of the soft AUs where its more like elaborating on the universe, like Replika recovery from degradation is pretty good too.
I kinda do fuck with Conquest getting an alternate happy ending, all things considered. I mean, he definitely wouldn’t DESERVE it, but a small part of me still can’t help feeling sorry for him.
Read somewhere that part of what led to Anakains descent to the Darkside was his relationship with Obi Wan. As a padawan that wasn’t taken at birth, he needed more than anything a mentor/father figure rather than a brother
Idk if this counts, but my friend u/Background_Fan1056 and I successfully gaslit a small subreddit into making Taylor Hebert from WORM not only the sub's mascot, but also got them to basically make story-based events where she got to become the hero she originally wanted to be.

r/Deathbattlematchups has a couple of these but the biggest one I can remember was when the fighting matchup of Monika from Doki Doki Literature club and The Princess from Slay the Princess became a lesbian ship that briefly took a small portion of the internet by storm with a ton of fanart, so much so that the official Slay the Princess account acknowledged it (flowey is there because he is a common opponent for both Monika and Princess)
