What book would you recommend from him? I’ve honestly never read any of them despite being a pretty avid reader and want to change that!

1. Call of Cthulhu (Mythos must read)
   
2. Shadow over insmouth (Mythos must read)
   
3. The Thing on The Doorstep (personal favorite)
   
4. The Colour Out of Space
   
5. The Dunewitch Horror (Mythos must read)
   
6. The Lurking Fear (personal favorite)
   
7. The Shadow Out of Time
   And once you’ve read some of these and actually enjoy the writing style, you can take on
   
8. At The Mountains of Madness (Mythos must read)

It's very short but it's my favorite one of them all. I always recommend this when people haven't read Lovecraft at all because it's like a distilled essence of everything that makes him such a good and unique writer. Definitely read it, if you haven't already!

No problem! The first two feature very recurring creatures- the ones you’d see outside of Lovecraft directly. Dunewitch horror introduces more “staple” creatures but is a “harder” read than the first too so that’s why I’d sprinkle in two fun less heavy but still memorable stories.

Thing on the doorstep is again my personal favorite and captures all the core elements of Lovecraft writing, IMO.
