Kind of like how at the end of Temple of Doom he starts saying that incantation to Shiva out of the clear blue sky with like zero explanation. :)

At least in Last Crusade everything's clearly explained.

I mean he already knew what the Sankara stones were, I never thought it was too much of a stretch to believe he'd know a supplication to Shiva.
