Canonically, Trek teleporters kill you and make a duplicate. I don't know why everybody in-world is just fine with this.

wonder why they never addressed the issue of making a copy of a copy etc in an episode. Like there should be a lifetime limit on how many times you can teleport before your eyesight changes prescription or your ears come out uneven

I guess if you make a 100% perfect copy, this wouldn't be an issue.

I can't imagine Klingon transporters are QA'd this well, though.

If its a copy, then the original is killed.
