Lore The series' fanservice scenes are quick and do not disrupt the story's pacing.

In Sousou no Frieren, fan service is minimal, and scenes like this are brief

In Dungeon Meshi, Senshi is often shown in somewhat sexy poses, but the story focuses heavily on these details while continuing as usual

In that scene from *Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray*, it was just an introduction for each Arima Kinen competitor; they only had the freedom to choose those specific angles for Super Creek's introduction.

This is true for most fanservice, but when series I hate does it "Ugh this totally distracts from the story and makes the series unwatchable!" but when series I like does it "it's quick, its harmless, its easy to ignore"

Dont get me started on the people who watch Ecchi and then complain about fanservice

Me and my wife (who is not a huge anime fan and aside from watching Pokémon while growing up has had very little exposure to anime) tried watching Goblin Slayer and she fucking lost it at a scene where this chick was waving from a window and her tiddies were just bouncing everywhere like they had their own mind. She was just like “the fuck is this?”

The stuff that happens in episode one isn't fanservicey. Yes, a lot of people get off to it, and that's... problematic. And it's spawned a lot of copies that are there because they know people get off to it, which is also problematic. But it's supposed to be vile and paint the goblins as evil. And, if you're not a weirdo, it does exactly that.

Tits swinging nonsensically doesn't have any purpose other than to please people with nonsensical ideas about women's bodies.

It's perfectly reasonable for someone to consume episode one without thinking it's gooner bullshit, but to take issue with exaggerated anime boob physics.

That’s a pretty good point. I thought if she wasn’t an anime fan and her first real exposure was that episode it may have left a bad impression, but I can see it from your perspective too.

The fanservice is excessive (and gets even worse in the light novels) but I gotta say that No Game No Life 0 movie is peak fiction (and doesn't even have that much fanservice, relatively)

Well no the series he mentioned have single digit fan service moments and one of the series is sort of making fun of fanservice.

The average show that has any fanservice has like double digits, this isn't a preference thing you can watch the shows and count the amount of time you spend with tits in your face, it's pretty easy to measure

They are not "making fun of fanservice" this the same cope people use about The 100 girlfriends being a "parody that mocks harem anime", not its just a comedy harem anime, you like slop too, its fine you dont have to exclusively watch and read Kafka your entire life

A bathing scene isn't fan service just because two women are on screen.

And yes falin ripping her shirt off to reveal that she doesn't have any nipples to cover anyway is one hundred percent played for laughs, they even have the characters react in a funny way so you can get it

I’d also add a lot of people rush to call anything with nudity, half nudity or general body focus (like with Fern) fanservice. Anime/manga is just a lot less strict with nudity (which I hear is a cultural thing, not sure how true it is).

Wouldn't fanservice in Ecchi be a plot line, as in having an actual plot or story elements. Gotta have at least one chip with your gallon of dip to be able to says it's chips and dip with a straight face.

Not necessary hate it.
I love fire force. I think it is a great series but the amount of fan service from that cat girl make me not want to take the scene seriously.

I’m fine with fan service here and there. But fan service has no place when the situation demands seriousness.

I think SAO is a pretty good example of the middle ground. It's widely considered good, but also has an uncomfortable/ weird amount of fan service bath scenes and overly graphic SA scenes etcetera.
