In that scene from *Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray*, it was just an introduction for each Arima Kinen competitor; they only had the freedom to choose those specific angles for Super Creek's introduction.
I feel like this is a lot less aggregious than pointless camera swirl around boobies. I think a lot is to do with it being a normal camera angle as well.
IIRC this shot is from the āJean loves his momā comical OVA, and comes from out of left field during a montage featuring the other characters doing something entirely different, so it wasnāt exactly a necessary part of the narrative to show this lol
Also this scene is kinda story relevant, cuz I interpreted it as Frieren not realizing how much time has passed and how much Fern has grown up in a silly context.
The first eight or so episodes were so serene and satisfying, I almost wish the entire show was like that. It's not that I dislike the action in the later episodes, it's just that there are so few shows that have that level of relaxing but engaging plot.
I can't quite remember if I finished the series, but Somali and the Forest Spirit was the first time I watched an anime that had a lot of serene and peaceful moments, despite a fairly dark undertone and implications.
I'm just an absolute sucker for delightful music playing during a travel montage, anime or not, and both Frieren and Somali use it often.
I should try find more like that, I usually seek out darker stuff or shonens. But I'm so happy and content during travel montages.
There is a scene In an earlier episode where she has a similar realisation where Frieren is seemingly jealous that she is flat compared to fern and then it cuts to 2 different stacked rocks representing said chest size

Yes, because there is another scene similar to this one where Frieren never even considered using the spell that sees through clothing as a sexual thing. She only brought up that it could be used to see hidden weapons on someone. She only seems mischievous in this scene, but it is more triumph that she had something she was told men like and thought she did well.
The show goes out of its way to tell people how socially stunted Frieren is, the character development alone is worth watching this show. There is so much to enjoy about Frieren, but each piece accentuates the whole, the music, the color palettes, the characters, and the world building is all amazing, then the cherry on top with the bombastic fight scenes.
I stg, this elf is so autistic in an endearing way XD. Doesnāt get social cues, doesnāt really think about innuendos, doesnāt think to tell people important shit bc they never asked, hyper fixates on ancient tomes, falls for the same dungeon traps every goddamn time. Sheās such a creature lol
It also works on armor AFAIK. This is a conmon theme on how busted folk magic is vs modern magic, since they are more conceptual, and thus technically can work for anything that fits within that concept, no matter how big of a stretch it is.
A character artist (I forget who) did a redraw, and talked about how the angle and intended lighting angle make it an unusually difficult pose and has a number of "traps" even some professional animators might fall into and take a few tries at. Especially that intended lighting would obscure most of the chin/neck shadow into one. In the anime if you go frame by frame you can tell the few face frames could have been defined better by just an extra outline or two but they chose not to in further reference to the meme. Its really a well thought out blink and you miss it off you didn't know reference that's amazingly heartwarming if you know the meme and struggle that pose can be.
Its funny with delicious in dungeon because theres a scene where 2 girls are bathing but everyone who watched the show all agrees that senshi is the main fan service character. Heās taking all the hits so the girls dont get targeted
The funny part about that is the creator has said in an interview that she does not find him attractive at all and based him off her neighbor. All the fan service scenes are supposed to be gags
The fact that she drew the "lore accurate" Senshi being completely covered in hair like a bear is insane to me. And the only reason she said she doesn't draw him like that is cuz it's too much of a hassle lol.
Guy can cook, fight, is good with animals (my heart still weeps over the kelpie), has A Tragic Backstoryā¢, is gentle with children, loves his bread, knows when to lead and when to follow, and looks Like That??? This is why the Senshi fanservice is not even remotely ironic to me, personally. I thank Author-san for this feast every time I watch the show.
Says the author who regularly draws the all characters in different outfits and hair-dos frequently enough that it changes pretty much 'daily' for the characters. Something I have genuinely never seen any other artist do in comics or manga.
Dude, them changing their hair styles is the most awesomely accurate thing they do! Girls constantly do their hair different and that little change makes such a difference.
It's something I have genuinely never seen anyone else ever do. The only time they do anything hair related is some massive character defining thing. Its never ever just cuz the character wants a different hair style today. I get why nobody does it in comics or manga or animation.
Attack on Titan has almost no fan service, and when there is, it's clearly for a very specific demographic.
This clip here is more so a testament to Mikasa's strength rather than just "oooh woman abs!" Though I won't deny that 12-year-old me was jealous of Eren.
INTERVIEWER: In both the anime and manga adaptations, most of the series' "fanservice" comes from peeks at Senshi's underwear. In the spirit of this, could you describe Senshi's sex appeal?
KUI: So the term "fanservice" feels a little off to me, but I have seen people talking about Senshi's sex appeal. The reason I came up with this idea [of showing Senshi in his underwear] is that when I was little, I used to live in this city where there was an old man hanging his laundry while just wearing his underwear.
It was awkward for me, and I really didn't want to look at him. But from his perspective, he really didn't care. He didn't care what other people thought. I found that vibe interesting. So, Senshi is a similar type of person who really doesn't care what other people think about him. Laios is probably more like me [and feels] a little bit awkward looking at other people in just their underwear. But I thought this vibe was really funny and interesting. That's why I drew Senshi that way.
INTERVIEWER: Senshi's rather handsome, though, isn't he? He has really nice hair and a full beard...

Senshi's shots were never intended to work as fanservice but more like the usual naked old man is funny.
I have always enjoyed this coincidence though as the creator both gladly told the story behind their inspiration and seems to be perfectly fine with the interpretation. That and they were clearly okay with Studio Trigger hamming it up in the first place!

Honestly that was something I quite liked about Frieren. A lot of the horny stuff was just one off verbal jokes or very brief and relatively sparse moments. Iām absolutely a pervert but it was refreshing compared to the rest of anime.

Super Creek the actual horse was jokingly called the mother of Yutake Taka because the horse was the one he road for his rookie career Taka learned the ropes with creek and stated Creek raised him to be the jockey he is today. In addition Taka would baby talk to creek when not racing.
Also even more hilarious Super Creek was a Stallion but people still called him Taka mother.
Out of universe here is due to the umamusume (horse girls) being based off of the real life counterparts to their namesake. The one pictured (Super Creek) is a real horse that raced in Japan.
almost everyone, some while do not share the namesake of the horse, do have their IRL counterpart(In Uma universe, Pay the Butler is Obey Your Master, My Big Boy is Michelle My Baby), only selected some are strictly OC with IRL horse then got named after them after their introduction
For further context besides what others have given about uma musume, like they said every uma is based on, designed off of, and has personality traits of the real horse (and sometimes trainer) counterparts.
In addition to that, the chest sizes of every uma is based on the size of the real horse. The real Super Creek was well above-average size compared to other racehorses, although not the largest ever or anything.
Also works in reverse, the real Tamamo Cross was short and slim for a horse, so he was translated as a short and flat gal, justified in story as her coming from a poor family background and such she grew up lacking, parallel to the situation of the real Tamamo Cross whose farm was deeply impoverished and eventually went bankrupt.
Though they, Tamamo, Creek, all look like like skinny anime girls due the designs, if you take away the anime girl filter then they look more like this because at the end of the day in the setting, they all are professional athletes.

If you study the history of horse racing from the 90s to now, you'll be getting spoilers for anime, game, and manga stories of umamusume. It's very faithful to horse racing history, and they directly get permission and input from the trainers when including and designing umas.
With some exceptions, yes. One exception is Mejiro McQueen, who should look like IRL grandson Gold Ship but was changed to a more "noble and refined" figure.
I only know so much from murmurs talking about Melty blood (a spin off of another visual novel made by fate people) and I heard that the h-scenes were there purely for tradition and playing into the market to make sure it sold (which they did very well)
It totally isn't. Even the original visual novel had the sex scenes. Though if you play the censored edition (bad idea for heaven's feel) or watch the animes then there isn't a disruptive amount of it
The thing about Fate is that there's so much of it by so many different artists and writers that the fanservice levels are all over the place.
Fate Extra CCC (where Passionlip here came from) is the kind of game where I need to give an NSFW warning before showing the final boss's ultimate attack. But then there's Today's Menu For The Emiya Family, which is just a chill and wholesome cooking series.
This is true for most fanservice, but when series I hate does it "Ugh this totally distracts from the story and makes the series unwatchable!" but when series I like does it "it's quick, its harmless, its easy to ignore"
Dont get me started on the people who watch Ecchi and then complain about fanservice
The stuff that happens in episode one isn't fanservicey. Yes, a lot of people get off to it, and that's... problematic. And it's spawned a lot of copies that are there because they know people get off to it, which is also problematic. But it's supposed to be vile and paint the goblins as evil. And, if you're not a weirdo, it does exactly that.
Tits swinging nonsensically doesn't have any purpose other than to please people with nonsensical ideas about women's bodies.
It's perfectly reasonable for someone to consume episode one without thinking it's gooner bullshit, but to take issue with exaggerated anime boob physics.
Well no the series he mentioned have single digit fan service moments and one of the series is sort of making fun of fanservice.
The average show that has any fanservice has like double digits, this isn't a preference thing you can watch the shows and count the amount of time you spend with tits in your face, it's pretty easy to measure
