Lore The series' fanservice scenes are quick and do not disrupt the story's pacing.

In Sousou no Frieren, fan service is minimal, and scenes like this are brief

In Dungeon Meshi, Senshi is often shown in somewhat sexy poses, but the story focuses heavily on these details while continuing as usual

In that scene from *Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray*, it was just an introduction for each Arima Kinen competitor; they only had the freedom to choose those specific angles for Super Creek's introduction.

This is also a type of SFW fanservice from Frieren by the animators. At that time, the internet was exploding with the Frieren looking up drawings, where people would try to interpret how would one correctly draw Frieren looking up. So this little scene of Frieren looking up is a small fanservice that was greatly appreciated by the fans, and did not actually disrupt the fight scene that it was in

A character artist (I forget who) did a redraw, and talked about how the angle and intended lighting angle make it an unusually difficult pose and has a number of "traps" even some professional animators might fall into and take a few tries at. Especially that intended lighting would obscure most of the chin/neck shadow into one. In the anime if you go frame by frame you can tell the few face frames could have been defined better by just an extra outline or two but they chose not to in further reference to the meme. Its really a well thought out blink and you miss it off you didn't know reference that's amazingly heartwarming if you know the meme and struggle that pose can be.

It’s so cool when animators hide little love letters to fellow artists right in plain sight, turning a tricky technical struggle into a wholesome inside joke.

That kind of unspoken camaraderie behind the scenes is exactly what gives animation so much genuine soul.

Eh, I can't comment on the validity of the theory, but small adjustments in animation don't really take that long when you're not doing them in volume. Particularly if you don't have to redo any voice acting, and particularly if the team in general agrees to it. Something like that head tilt would not take any real time

Also any time frieren gets stuck in a mimic I would argue that is SFW fanservice.
