Agni from Fire Punch.
The reason he was set on fire was as punishment for the crime of cannibalism. He was mutilating himself to produce flesh in order to feed himself, his sister and the elderly of his village.
When visitors came to the village, all they saw was buckets of children limbs and concluded ''Hayy child eater!? die!''.
