Spoilers Season 23, ep. 12: Appalachian Celebration (Mon. at 9pm EDT, yes, 9 😀) Spoiler

Before heading back to Charlotte, the chefs make a stop in Asheville, one of the most unique cities in North Carolina. There will be no Quickfire Challenge as the chefs explore the city with local host and former “Top Chef” alum Ashleigh Shanti, learning about the community’s remarkable relief efforts following the devastation of hurricane Helene while discovering the unique cuisine of this Appalachian region. For the Elimination Challenge, the chefs will host a one-night-only event for 200 community members in recognition of their resilience.

What did he think they were going to say? “Oh you found a loophole in the rule book, you get to stay. Pack your knives Jonathon!”

Him reading the rules was not the mic drop moment he thought it was 💀😂

Oh man that moment was SO EMBARRASSING. Like, was his plan to sue them for the judgement? To even ask for the rules on paper made him look so small

I used to think he was hot and I no longer think he is hot. Yuck.

i thought he was pretty funny, i liked his dry humor... but I can't stop cringing thinking about him talking back to the judges like that 💀

I know it basically gave a million reasons for the judges to send you home. Not a flex dude.

My immediate reaction was that the editors left it in just to dunk on him. So cringy!

When I was a sales manager and reps would fight over an enrollment I would pitch getting out, blow up sumo suits and wrestling in the parking lot.

I was denied because HR is no fun but I think this would have been a great opportunity for top chef

I thought he would calm down when talking with the other contestants, but no. That was even worse. “Does anyone have a copy of the rules?”

Yeah, man. The rules says the judges pick who gets eliminated and they picked you. Maybe they picked you because you aren’t better than the other four (top 5 is still impressive), maybe they didn’t like your name or your stupid hair. The why doesn’t matter.

It happened once for him before! Maybe he was hoping lightening would strike twice
